Here's a nice, rare Rafi solo number from the film 'Jab se tumhe dekha hai' 1967, Music of Dattaram.

Hum aapki mehfil mein, bhoole se chale aaye - VCD rip

The orchestration of the interlude music is so typically SDBurman. Picturised on Shashi Kapoor singing in his room thinking about Tanuja ...with Tanuja eavesdropping on him with along with her saheli....they get caught at the end ...when they slip from the stool they are standing on while looking in through a window above the door to his room ! You will hear their squeals and laughter at the end of the song !!

Aji rooth kar ab kahaan jaayiega, jahan jaaiyega hamen paayiega

No, no...you haven't come to the Lata forum by mistake...though these are the words of a well known Lata Mangeshkar song from the film Arzoo, starring Rajendra Kumar and Sadhana.

What is not so well known is that the film features the same song sung by Rafi - later in the movie- though a much shorter version (1:59 mins) compared to the main Lata version which is 5:12 mins. The words in the Rafi version are just slightly different.

A lively Shankar Jaikishan song from the film Janwar....which was 'inspired' (in other words, copied !!) from the 1963 Beatles hit - 'I wanna hold you hand'. The Hindi version is pretty good though...and i quite like it - with my favourite Rafi singing in his usual 'Shammi' style along with Asha - and some pretty nice guitaring too !

Great music and orchestration..from N Dutta and .....Rafi - well, what can you say about him ? Just listen !!

Though this is a CD rip, the sound quality is not at its best ( i remember to have heard better quality in my younger days on radio) ...wonder if the film is available on VCD or DVD - haven't come across it yet. I have this on audio cassette too...but similar quality only. Have used a bit rate of 192 kbps for this one.
