Some time ago I uploaded a Version Song (in fact I think it is the original one sung in 1940's) under Purani Yaadeen. It is "Na yeh chand hoga". I think its version song was resung in film Shart by Hemant and Geeta dutt. According to my info originally it was composed by GA Chisti in 1940 film (Sassii???). Can anybody shed more light on this issue?

Hi Faraaj73
Some years ago there was a mention of some song and dance sequence in an earlier movie that was the inspiration for the dream song in Raj Kapoor's Awaara (Tere bina aag yeh chandni). I have been looking for that piece of information. If you or any of our members knows about that can you please post the information here or at least provide a link to the original article. Thanks. Sindhi composer Bulo C Rani was inspired by earlier classic Mukesh duet when his career started declining. Clearly the original is superior...

1946 Rajputani - Hamida Bano, Mukesh - Jaa Parwaane Jaa-bulo c rani mp3 160kbps 3m 26s

1953 Husn Ka Chor - Sandhya Mukherji, Shankar Dasgupta - Dheere Dheere Dil Mein Samaye-bulo c rani wma 192kbps 3m 17s

Kind Regards
Faraaj

I am not sure if this entry fits in this subforum. This is a peculiar case in which the second song lifts the three "Bhagwaan"s at the beginning, note by note, from the first one. Otherwise, there are no similarities

Song: Bhagwaan3...O Duniyaa Ke

Movie: Baijoo Baawraa

MD: Naushad

Year: 1952

Singers: Rafi

Format: mp3

Bit Rate: 128 kpbs

Length: 5:23

My Rating of Music: 8/10

Song: Bhagwaan3

Movie: Raajaa Vikram

MD: B.N. Bali

Year: 1957

Singers: Rafi

Format: mp3

Bit Rate: 128 kpbs

Length: 3:24

My Rating of Music: 4/10

I'm uploading 2-3 famous songs which most music-lovers are familiar with and the original (and lesser known) song that inspired them. The audio of the extremely rare originals is quite good even if the bit rate is low.

Please note, there is no knowing how old some original tunes are. The original song that I attach may very well be inspired by an original dating back to the 19th century. Credit is certainly due to the later composer for the re-packaging and presentation of the song.

For nearly everyone Mohe Panghat Pe Nandlal equals Mughal e Azam as rendered by Lata. I attach below at 192 kbps mp3 the Mughal e Azam song as well as the original Indubala version of the 1920s. Indubala, now forgotten was a great name of the 1920s and was trained by Gauhar Jaan.

Enjoy! And members having similar examples are welcome to share them here.

Kind Regards
Faraaj

I don't know about an inspiration for "Ghar Aaya Mera Pardesi" but this was Helen's filmi debut. She was in the gaggle of extras who danced in this dream sequence.
