I am not as much a fan of Jane Eyre myself (much prefer Wuthering Heights), but this passage is nice. It could symbolically seen as your love for Asha. ![]() |

Never liked it. Gives me the creeps. I think it is a better written book with a lot of complex characters. Yes it is dark, but that is human nature for you. "Jane Eyre" has a better story-line, certainly more romantic, but "Wuthering Heights" is more about the dark side of love. Just to keep this relevant to HF, "Jane Eyre" was made in Hindi as "Sangdil" with lovely music by Sajjad. It was made in Tamil as "Santhi nilayam" with exceptional music by M S Vishwanathan. I saw the Tamil version years back on TV (I was just 8-9 years old) and the crazy wife gave me the creeps, a fear that lasted for years. I believe "JE" had been made earlier in the 40s as well, but I cannot recall the name of the film. "WH" was made as "Dil diya dard liya" with some nice songs by Naushad. |

Read both books at a rather tender age. Being fond of animals could not stomach the hanging/strangling of the dogs in WH and that kind of discoloured the entire novel for me. Jane Eyre is a novel of hope and the triumph of love and life. Life can be dark enough without having to read novels of dark and psychotic characters!!! ![]() |

Ave Maria as promised.
Well, many promise, some fulfil ![]() I am not too fond of tracks 1 & 4. All music. My fav is the one SB says Asha composed herself--Calling. Forget the real track names. Anyway that is track 2. Track 3 is also fine. ![]() |
