There is a Kishore version of the song "Ae mere soye hue pyaar zara hosh me
aa" in this film. The Asha version of this song was uploaded in the Asha forum
not too long back. Does anybody have it?

I did not know that another version existed. I was actually looking for the smaller version where Kishoreda is trying to teach " Charu Chandra Ki" to Lata . I just checked on the site hamaracd.com for ManPasand..The length of that song is 2:39 min. Whereas this song is 5:17 min.

Can you reconcile your upload above with the following upload from "Dilli Ka Thug" by BJ in his thread "Pakka Dhaaga".

Upon listening, they seem to be the same song.

If you notice the starting chal re ameeran in both the songs is quite different- after O bandariya the song sounds the same- but again in the end it is little bit different.

Both songs had Ravi as the music director.

mine is surely from Bombay Ka chor.

Maybe SB could shed some light.

What's interesting is that the lyricists of these songs are different. Now remember that "Chal ri amiran...chal re fakire" is a general expression used in some other dialougues/songs too. In fact, apparently, even the movie "Chham Chhama Chham" (the album listing) has a song that goes on similar lines.

Is this a case of the same song being released with subtle variations in 2 albums?

I had heard the song in both films and somehow had not reconciled it in my
head. Seems like this song was sung twice, once for each film. The films have
a lot in common. Both were produced by S D Narang with New Oriental Pictures.
Both films star Kishore Kumar with music by Ravi. I have seen both films but
cannot recall the picturization. Probably worth a visit to my local store to get
them again. "Bombay ka chor" starred Mala Sinha with KK while "Dilli ka Thug"
had Nutan. From listening to the songs, it seems like the songs were recorded
at different times for the films.
The interesting thing is that all songs in "Bombay ka chor" are attributed to
Rajendar Krishan. HOwever, the songs in "Dilli ka Thug" are penned by S H BIhari,
Shailendra and Majrooh (the Geetkosh is not specific about which song was
written by which lyricist). So that is a bit of an anomaly.

All of the above is just data from the GK. I don't really know the deal on this.

as i mentioned in the other thread both the songs are same released first for dilli ka thug but not included in the movie later in 1962 it was released and included in bombay ka chor
i dont know about the different lyrics though was it recorded twice or just the once

Cinemaniac, thanx for these songs from "Naughty Boy". The film has
3 KK solos, 4 Asha/KK duets and 1 Asha solo. DO you have the others
from the film as well? I think there is a different thread where both
Walker and I had asked for the songs from this film (apparently they
had been uploaded on HF a while back and have since become digital
dust -- I love that phrase).
Even if you don't have them, I am happy to have the 3 you just uploaded.
