however as per ur suggestion let's try it here.

?as per some info - a mono file encoded will sound better at 32 -then trying to encode it at 128.

any doctors there?

I've started this topic with a new thread cine.

What happens at 32 kbps or lower, all high frequency notes are elminated. This works good only for old songs, which to some extent includes hiss noise and humm sounds. Try doing it for new songs, you will see a vast difference in the clarity.

I would suggest, 24kbps mono for old songs, since all the recordings then were mono and we do not have that dhakam dhakka bass and kishkish treble notes in old songs.

I think that it doesn't matter if the song is mono or stereo, but the main question is whether its bandwidth is low or high.

There are many mono songs with high bandwith. So, these songs should not be encoded at low bit rates. Otherwise you will lose the timbre of some instruments especially of wind instruments.
