Bay Bridge.
What you see in the back is an island named Treasure Island.
This bridge connects two cities - San Francisco and Oakland and passes through Treasure island in between.
This bridge has two levels - lover level traffic goes towards Oakland, upper level takes you back to SF.

Back in the late 90s they had this slice of Redwood tree near the north end of the bridge. Now it does not exist. Photo taken Aug 26, 1997.
