Many of the songs mentioned are from either dubbing/re-made movies... such ones need not be called 'copied'. But there are more nos. which do not fall into this category.

Ayyagari...Thanks a lot for collecting so many songs. I know how much effort has gone into it. Actually I have some of my own, but i will post them after you finished your upload. One interesting point is as Balaji said, if the movie is a remake, we almost always have the songs with same tunes..if not all, atleast a couple of them. But majority of your uploads come under genuinely inspired songs...I have read a book written by Sri DV Narasa Raju, where in he clearly wrote as to how the song from Do Kaliyan...( tumhari nazar ) was used by the MD as the producer AVM Chettiyar has insisted on it, and has got already the rights for that song...Even Ghantasala was under great pressure from many producers to include songs from Hindi...and the terrific work load doesnt permit them either to sit and write a new composition... But this is an interesting topic, never the less...thanks again.

Music is certainly beyond linguistic barriers. The first time i heard Ei raat tomar amar..it took my breath away. I dont understand a bit of Bangla..

BTM...first came the Bengali version..then the Telugu version..then the hindi version. ..The telugu version is names Chivaraku Migiledi. ( what remains in the end ) . it was supposed to be the magnum opus of Savitri, the actress unparelleil.. Unfortunate that the film was lost to the vagaries of the time. there is a clipping on youtube..where a noted Telugu Thespian ANR talks about the three versions..and shows the same scene..from all versions..of Suchitra Sen, Savitri and Waheeda..and compares them..

yep.will do that in the noon. essentially ANR says that Savitri is the best when it comes to photo-finish shots, closeup shots...
Would love to hear..how you feel regarding their facial expressions... language is no bar for extreme human emotions..i guess.

The English one has just the Mukhda (Pallavi) portion of the other two songs. It appears OPN was certainly inspired by this English tune for just the Mukhda of his ever-green "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Jeena Yahan" song from CID. OPN has composed probably his own Antara (Charanam) for his song.

Then, Music Director, Ghantasala, came in and took both the Mukhda and the Antara of the Hindi song for his Telugu 'Sabash Ramudu' song!

Velugu Needalu is from 1964 and Naya Sansar is from 1959. Both these songs owe their inspiration to a Gujrati song Aankh Thaare No from 1956. See
