by the way, there was a small problem about starting a thread of 21 Gems of Usha Mangeshkar. I was forced to start it in The Sangeet Ke Sitarey sub-forum. Here I could have started it only under the sub-forum of another singer as a new topic related to that singer! Obviously the list of other singers must be extended to include Usha Mangeshkar, Sudha Malhotra, Mubarak Begum, Meena Kapoor, and many others.

Hi...I just registered with HF yesterday only....and what a surprise the very first day I met with these so many nice fellows who are so fond of one of the most talented, but yet neglected, singers....SUMAN KALYANPUR....Still enjoying so many posts on her and her career (sadly mostly wasted with C grade movies...notwithstanding we remember those movies merely for Suman's rendering).

I read about your crest for that Barkha Bairan song.....and hope you have at least lyric of this melodious and passionate song....I have lyric of Mukesh...but astonishingly not yet found Suman's version in print. If possible, would you mind letting me the lyric as and when you get the same from your VCD? I need the same because one of my friends wish to present this very song for incoming function in our Listerners' Club. Thanks in advance.

Please forgive me for my not logging in for couple of days as we all were facing torrential rain in this part of Maharashtra and area was under flood with danger level; so it was rather impossible for me to get with computer. However when things started in normal tune, the first thing I enjoyed was checking and reading your message for which kindly accept my profuse thanks for your words and that Chalak song. Very co-incidently a couple of minutes ago I was enjoying Suman's duet with Manna De on FM...and you know which was one : Yes....from "Sakhi Robin"...."Tum to aao to pyaar aa jaye....zindagi mein bahar aa jaaye". So delightful and melodious too....from another neglected composer Robin Banerjee.

And sure, I will engage me with Marathi section too....because we all know Suman ji had rendered n number of sweet Marathi Bhavgeet....the very one right now I am remembering is : "Limbonichya Zadamagay chandra zopala ga baai....aaj mazya padasal zop ka ga yet nahi..." The lori song....equally melodious.
