I am trying to post a poll for the first time, so please let me know if something is not right.

Please ..please..do vote in this poll and let us know what is your most favorite song of our beloved singer!

Its very much possible that I might have missed some gems, but this time I have tried to include the popular songs.

We can have polls for SDB, OPN etc. if we all like this idea !

Parag I casted my vote for most my fav .. koi chhupke se aake !

Although i have voted for Mera sundar sapna from the list i feel that it is difficult to select any one particular song.
My own list of favourites wd include
1,waqt ne kiya
2,bankhe adayein
3,yeh ruth yeh raat jawan
4, nanhi kali sone chali
just to mention a few..

I know its so difficult to choose one ! Songs of Anubhav are so much close to my heart too ! Thats why I had selected 2 songs from it in my list of 15.

My favouritest Geeta solo is ,without doubt, "Tadbir Se Bigdee Hui Taqdeer" from Baazi. I have cast my vote for the 'others' category. I feel that you should have mentioned this in your list.

Whenever I hear this song, I keep observing how sweetly and bengali-like she says "Banaali" in stead of "Banaale"!

Its so difficult to choose one from Bazi. Actually suno gazar kya, tadbeer se bigadi and aaj ki raat piya are my equal favorites from Bazi. I wanted to have the first 2 at least; but I was too much tempted by Anubhav.
So I ended up adding 2 from Anubhav instead of Bazi.

Its so tough to choose say 10, forget 1.

When you asked me ........ which is my favourite song by Geetaji...... I gave a long thought .. made a list crossed out some items... erased the crossing.. and I am still confused. Parag this is a very very difficult question to answer. But since you have it it to a vote... my choices are:

so i used my regular technique.. which song would i prefer if i was left alone on some lonely island?

This was an effort from my side to know the general likings of solos of Geetaji. I was of the feeling that more votes would be in the favour of fast paced songs like Mera naam chin chin choo, babuji dheere chalna and yeh lo main hari piya.

I was kind of surprised to find that the sad songs are generally more appealing.

Yes I think Chintu ji is right .The above mentioned song from aar paar which is also one of my favourites should have been included in the list ,and there is one more song Jhoom jhoom ke aa dil ki mehfil mein do not remember the lyrics exactly though ,which i think should have been included too

Jhoom jhoom ke jaam.........aa dil ke mehfil mein' is from the movie 'Coffee House', i have u/led it on my thread Getta dutts's solos and duets recently..

The poll has only 15 possible choices, so I know that its tough to get that one song you like the most !

No doubt, "Zoom zoom ke aa dil ki mehfil mein aa" is something which only Geetaji could have rendered in such a soulful way !

am new to the community & just wanted to share some info on geeta ji...

pls coorect me if i am wrong...

of the list of songs to choose and vote...it is difficult to just pick one...geeta ji's music is immortal...

one of the songs which i really like is "merii jaan, mujhe jaan na kaho merii jaan" from the movie Anubhav, Music : Kanu Roy. I think this was the last Hindi movie for which geeta ji gave playback (pls correct me if i am wrong). what a beautiful song & has also been brilliantly picturised in the movie with tanuja singing to sanjeev kumar.

Frankly, it's hard to select one song. I totally agree with Bhagwatji. Below is my selections.

I know it's copy of Bhagwatji but it's not my fault. Some how our selections are almost same. When you asked me ........ which is my favourite song by Geetaji...... Yeh lo main hari piya for me

Hey guys..when I saw the movie there is an extra line in the last stanza which we dont get to hear on cassette or CD..

Can some one plz share that ?

Oh yes, there are 2 extra lines in fact :

Dekho main gaali doongi
Chhod do yeh reet re

These were deleted as per censor guidelines or something !



I do have a version with these lines. It was uploaded on HF some time back.

I will upload it again today !
