The Photos are wonderful, but where is this place? In Tamilnadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Sri Lanka, or really in Heaven?

Munnar is in the state of Kerala, close to Cochin and Aluva(e),can be easily reached by car from there...the drive is really something.....very scenic, picture perfect.............the weather is ideal throughout the year.............a great holiday spot.......definitely worth a visit..............i have been there 3 times already.........intend going again during summer........ smile.gif

wow Reeth. great pics. are the elephant on the second last pic junglee? I sat on an elephant when I visited india when I was 1 yr old, so I dont remember anything sad1.gif
After that I havent seen any except for the one in circuses.
Are there many (wild) elephants in the Kerla region?
Reeth
Deep, there are herds of elephants roaming around in Nagarahole forest,in Karnataka, that pic somehow got mixed up with the Munnar snap shots....
In fact in Kutta( my hometown), in coorg (Karnataka),which borders Kerala, we see elephants moving around freely all the time...........other animals too........like Bisons,Deer, wild cat etc.

so cool. Think I will wisit Karnataka and Kerla next time I go to India smile1.gif
Reeth
Deep you must visit these places, especially if you are fond of wild nature ,as of now these places are still unspoilt as there are not many tourists visiting............Karnataka tourism is quite lax in promoting the state i must say, but that can be an advantage..
kabir

Being a person from Kerala it is shamefull to say that I have n't visited the place(munnar) till now.Actually was so 'busy' with life.Sure I will visit there next time if god permits.

Deep ji .In Kerala there are enough forests and naturally elephents also. There is periyar wild life sanctuary(near to munnar) ,which is a reserve forest where there are not only elepehents but also deers and other animal can be found roming free.

Reeth, been to Munnar some 5 years back. Had stayed in the Mahindra Resorts then. Spent 4 days. Awesome place for a relaxed vacation. Lovely pix! I couldnt get such good shots sad.gif I had an ordinary kodak camera and the pix are all so hazy cry.gif

I tried taking the pic of the Nilgiri Tahr, but the goats were way up the hill sad.gif

Your pix bring back nostalgic memories of the trip. We had driven via Coimbatore, stayed overnite at C'tore and then drove to Munnar. Return we took that steep ghat road which had so many hairpin bends (I felt so sick wacko.gif ).

cheers,
N
