I got this off some kind soul who had shared these on the internet. Looks like this is a 5 CD set but I couldn't find it in our Indian stores here or much information on the net...

To celebrate 50 years of independence, Shalimar Recording and Broadcasting Company released a huge 15 CD set of Ghazal Maestros including Mehnaz Begum, Mukhtar Begum, Iqbal Bano, Ijaz Hussain Hazarvi, Mehdi Hassan, Farida Khanum, Ghulam Ali, Hamid Ali Khan, Salamat Ali Khan, Ustad Barkat Ali Khan and Ustad Amanat Ali Khan.

They also released a 15 CD set of Folk Music and 10 CD set of Insrumental Music.

if it's not too much to ask - i would like to hear all the songs (except the mehdi hassan and ghulam ali ones which i shd have) - would really appreciate if you could upload them - take your time though

Sri Ji, These are 'digitally re mastered' recordings with some extra beats It is called 'Jhankar' in Pakistan I hate this 'Jhankar', they have spoiled the beauty of original compositions.

No, The set released by Shalimar Co. includes original soundtrack recordings. I have some of the Cds from the set.

Well...since i had not heard the originals I couldn't hate them as Inaam does

...so i still would like to hear the rest of the songs.....(except MH and GA)



Inaam mentioned that he has some of the CDs from the original Shalimar Co. set - maybe he could u/l some 'originals' too...so that we can appreciate why he hates them!!

Sri Ji, I have heard only three songs from Joshi Ji’s uploads, (Deepak raag hai, Tumse ulfat ke taqaaze and Aati hai pawan..) and all of these are Jhankar versions, since I have not heard the rest of the songs, I couldn't say anything about them … but I guess, most probably they will be in Jhankar.
Anyway I have following songs in original sound from Joshi Ji’s list, let me know which of them you want me to upload.

There are real tresures of Pakistan these were equilised with soundeffects to make it sound better well ectually the ORIGINALS sound not so bad at all.
In Pakistan they had JHANKAR to remaster old recordings and to present it better to the Next Genaration.
On the other hand we have in BHARAT the REVIVALS to clean and to murder old songs.
If the ppl who understand music and the importence of sound they never start with these things you can prvide a little efects to it but have to know how much and not to overdo.
I do not have lott's of Pakistani Gazals some tracks I had in my collection but now I have the 5 CD Pack what you send to us.
Now we wait till some one u/l the originals for us like INAAM who has the most of these in Original sound.
please u/l more PAKISTANI GREATEST GAZALS.
