I have been trying to get a CD or LP or any other format of this movie - Kahin Din Kahin Raat. The movie was released in 1968. The songs are just too good. Some of them are:

1. Tumhaara Chahane waala (easily available)

2. Mohabbat Ho Gayi jinse, shikayat unse kya hogi (still looking)

3. O Yaaron ki tamanna hai, teri zulfon me phans jayein (still looking)


There are more. Each one is just good, good old song.

I finally got a hold of the LP of Kahin Din Kahin Raat! I purchased a turntable to play the LP and transfer the songs onto Tape and then to MP3 format. Things are in progress!!

can't tell you how much i appreciate your uploads !!! we have been searching for these songs from kahin din kahin raat - for quite a while now.


the asha songs in particular - were so well known in those days - but they had completely faded from my conscious memory. but as i played the songs - i remembered every bit of the two songs - including all parts of the interlude music !! everything was apparently stored safely somewhere in the recesses of my brain.

thanks once again for taking me back in time - the quality was very good too - do you know the source by any chance ?

but did not have all the tracks now I have all the tracks.

Yess Deewani these Tracks are from the ORIGINAL LP RECORDS.
As they use to remaster from Vinyl almost all rare albums are remastered
from The Records.

Ok thanks, the catalog number was not matching the vinyl listing I had found online either so I was confused. Thanks again for the work you did in bringing this album to us vasudevji, enjoyed it much. Jab Aa Hi Gaye Hain Dar Pe Tere reminds me of Tere Dar Pe Aaya Hoon from Laila Majnu.

Thank you Vasudev, for completing another rare album. OPN seems to be promoting MK in this album, four solos by him and two by AB. And surprisingly the Asha solos in this album seem to take quite a backseat compared to the two evergreen Mahendra Kapoor songs, the controlled "Tumhara Chahnewala" and the breezy "yaaron ki tamanna hai". The next year Sambandh also had MK dominating the album's popular tracks (Jo diya tha tumne and andhere mein jo baithe hain) over Asha's songs but had two solos from the two other greats, Mukesh(Chal Akela) and the fading Hemant Kumar( Apni Mata Ke). Anybody with some more info/insights on when OPN made up with Rafi and the resulting albums...? Thanks also for the rare Killers album too. Have not heard those songs yet.

In 71-72.... he asked Rafi to sing....zamane ki aankhon ne dekha hai yaaro...ik baar muskura do.
72-73.........khaa kar tune paas kasam se le li meri jaan....taxi driver.
Rafi in fact also stopped singing for some time, may be a year or so during 1969-70(?).

So...and I am guessing here...that Humsaya(1968) would be the last album that Rafi sang for OPN before the rift.. I also checked the Rafi database, it seems that Rafi's output was lower in the years between 1973 and 1976 rather than earlier. But that might be because of delayed productions etc...

I have been looking for the songs from Kahin din kahin raat and the killers for years. I missed the CD released for this combo. There is no mention anywhere else about the release of these two movies.

Thanks a lot vasudevji for reloading the songs from Kahin din Kahin raat. I noticed that HMV has finally released the full versions of the songs; it had released three of the songs in other combinations:

(1) mohabbat ho gayi jinko - in an OP nayyar collection but the second verse was shortened.
(2) yaaron ki tamanna hai (in a mahendra kapoor collection - probably shorter too).
(3) tumhara chahne wala - in yaadon ki manzil set (this one was complete).

I am glad to get the full version of mohabbat ho gayi jinko, which is one of my all time favorites.

I am also hoping to get the songs from "the killers" from you soon.

Why tape? Put the amp output directly into the input jack on your comp. Use soundforge or sound studio - depending on your OS. Use iTunes to convert to MP3. Saves time. And cassettes...
