many photographers have captured her moods and expressions and made them as timeless as her songs.

after uplaoding the photos, i found that they are too large.
but doesn't matter as long as you like them.

** the cartoon is made by Raaj Thakare ( shiv-sena) on her 75th b'day.

it was so great that Lataji was calling Sachin with a respect ( Sachin "ji", etc ) while every TDH on the stage was calling Sachin by names

Did she talk a lot about her cricket interests ??

I know that Dinanath ji also LOVED cricket and he had a small team in their community and they used to play matches with the cricketing greats of those days !!! ( as told by Lataji in a live show of world cup celebrations )

so it came throu the blood to Lataji !!!!!

she talked about her regular visits to stadiums when test matches were played in mumbai.
she furthur said that she used to skip work during that week.
she has always known and admired Sachin as a player and great human being.

at the end , she said- aamachyakade mhanatat ki "kuna melyachi drusht lagali".
sachin la kunachi tari drusht lagli ahe ani ti kadhayala mi ali ahe..

Yes yes I heard this all from my wife ( I ask EVERYTHING about a show or a movie that I miss )

When the usually reclusive melody queen Lata Mangeshkar decides to step out for an entertaining evening, you can be sure that the shutterbugs would capture her in all her glory. But the blinding flashbulbs didn't affect her coy demeanour. Dressed in a classy pastel and pearl combo, she was seen regaling in the festivities at this soiree on Monday evening. Younger sister Usha Mangeshkar kept Lata company all through the evening. Usha was busy clicking pictures of her elder sister almost through the event. Well, this was one photo-op that the usually camera shy Lata didn't mind posing for! Being the chief guest for the evening, Lata inaugurated the evening by lightening the auspicious diya. Parizad Kolah-Marshall played the gracious host as she led the evening articulately. Manasi Scott's song and dance sequence was followed by a fashion show that kept the audience enthralled through the evening. Keeping up with their party spirit, Kanwaljeet Singh and Aman Nagpal stayed on till very late and had a gala time making merry!

August ji I saw this on the Tv at the Delhi aiport while waiting for my flight back It was indeed upsetting

i missed it. but i feel much better now.

Yep I am glad u didnt watch it.. it went on for almost 1/2 hr or so.. they kept showing the same shot of the sisters closing their ears

Why was it depressing? I watched that show and the music was horrendous. Any sane person would close their ears. It really was unbelievably bad music.

The scanned pics of Suraiya, O P Nayyar and Lataji seem to be from the Marathi book "Gaaye Chala Jaa" written by Shirish Kanekar. I had that book in my collection years ago. Lost it ..I dont know how !

Can you please scan the photograph of Geeta Duttji from this book and upload it in the Geeta Dutt sub-forum. It would be great if you can scan the article too. I would love to translate it into English for the benefit of the fans who don't know the language.
