I had the oppurtunity to watch 'Bowling for Columbine' (2002) on DVD. This Michael Moore movie which won an academy award for the best documentary is an eye-opener. Dealing with the gun culture in US & the gung-ho attitude of its political master's, it is an excellent perspective on the american system & a comparison with its Northern neighbor, Canada. It is definitely worth a watch.

The other movie I had seen was the 1989 movie 'Driving Miss Daisy'. This movie won 4 academy awards, including Best Picture/Screenplay/Actress. The lead pair, Morgan Freeman & Jessica Tandi invoke grace and dignity in this sensitive treatment of race relations and old age. The chemistry between the two leads is simply beautiful to watch. Jessica Tandi was 80 when she won the academy award.

The third movie was 'Black Rain' *ing Michael Douglas. I had seen this movie earlier. It is a very violent movie, but a good thriller.
