The C Ramchandra Special program which was aired on his death anniversary a few days ago, will be re-aired on Sunday, January 8th at 10.00 a.m. IST. This timing is to ensure that it can be caught by members across the US, India and Australia.

C RAMCHANDRA, who also sang some of his own songs under the name of Chitalkar, composed many hit songs in the late forties, fifties and early sixties.....and his songs are characterised by his unique kind of melody and rhythm. More importantly, Lata Mangeshkar's voice had an exceptional quality when singing for this music director. Not surprisingly, a very large proportion of his great compositions are in the voice of Lata Mangeshkar !

So,
- IF you are a C Ramchandra fan ...tune in, to hear what may well be your favourites too
- IF you are a Lata Mangeshkar fan ...tune in,...for you will hear many of her fabulous songs

Jan 16th was the 80th birthday of a living legend, the famous music director O P Nayyar . A selection of his popular songs was aired that night...which was missed by many due to the extremely short notice given by me (only half an hour ! )

So, the same OP Nayyar songs will be re-aired tonight at 10.30 pm IST ( almost 6 hours notice this time !!)

Those interested may tune in. The program will last approx 2 hours.

Friday night IST would be a Friday (weekday) afternoon GMT.

I still think weekends remain the best option.

Do we have any listeners from that zone or working USA? I think most of the regular gang is India or non working USA.

Gotta consider Akhtar and YM in GMT, Myawan in Pakistan, etc.

Pakistan mein time should be just a couple of hrs diff from India. U can't please everyone. Better to have a time suitable for the regulars who make it a point to attend all programs and encourage their friends.

Members tune in, subject to their personal convenience and if the program caters to their specific interests. As we saw, there were limited listeners for the program of Classical Music.

I anticipate that fans of Mohd. Rafi and Lata Mangeshkar would tune in to the announced program, but again, only if they are free and have the time. But at least, if it is scheduled for a weekend, we are maximizing the chances of listeners having the leisure to listen to the program.

I dont think there is any "perfect" day of the week and time. Just that weekends would be better for most interested listeners.

U forget that U USA peeps keep weekend for family and outings.

People come according to their preference but I value friendship first and appreciate those who come more for the sake of friendship than preference. They are the regulars and the ones who add life to the show.

As for me, I cant really listen to shows on weekends. (too many family commitments )
