The modern city of Durban dates from 1824, when a party of 25 men under British Lieutenant F. G. Farewell arrived from the Cape Colony and established a settlement on the northern shore of the Bay of Natal, near today's Farewell Square. Accompanying Farewell was an adventurer named Henry Fynn. Fynn was able to befriend the Zulu King Shaka by helping him to recover from a stab wound he suffered in battle. As a token of Shaka's gratitude, he granted Fynn a "25-mile strip of coast a hundred miles in depth." [citation needed] During a meeting of 35 white residents in Fynn's territory on June 23, 1835, it was decided to build a capital town and name it "d'Urban" after Sir Benjamin d'Urban, then governor of the Cape Colony.

D'Lo is a town in Simpson County, Mississippi, along the Strong River. The population was 394 at the 2000 census.
D'Lo was featured in Life Magazine for sending proportionally more men to serve in World War II than any other town of its size; 38 percent of the men who lived in D'Lo served.

Dacula's name comes from letters in Decatur and Atlanta, two nearby cities that were already prospering at the time of Dacula's founding. The name "Dacula" is properly pronounced da-KYOO-la, although some people elsewhere in the metro Atlanta area mistakenly pronounce it da-KOO-la. The city recently celebrated its 100th anniversary.

I visited Grenoble a couple of times, some years ago...when my sister-in-law used to live there...the view of the Alps was terrific even from her house and the river scene was very beautiful too - as you can see.
