Hello friends,

You all know that Mr. Srinivas Rao is running a website for old songs
viz. www.indianscreen.com where you can get lots of old songs.

Mr. Rao is also hosting a radio program on old songs called
'Hamesha Jawan' every week on 89.3 Dhoom FM in NJ.
This program is also available live on net at www.dhoomfm.com
Initially it was aired on Sundays 9.0 to 11.0 pm but now they changed
it on Mondays 8.0 to 10.0 pm NJ local time.

I like Mr. Rao's style of presentation very much . Simple plain wording,
lots of information & full songs. No song cutting, no stoping the song
and talking in between and no natakbaji (like Ameenji?).

In mumbai we can listen Hamesha Jawan on Tuesday morning
at 5.30 to 7.30 am. As I am crazy about it, I usually get up in the morning
and listen to it and also record it so that I can listen many times in
the week till the next one comes.

In the last year, on Suraiya's sad demise, Mr. Rao presented a program
as a tribute to her. I recorded it and would like to share with you
here in Suraiya Forum. As it is a two hours program, I divided it in to
ten parts. Initially I shall upload first two parts and if you like (I hope
you will) the remaining eight.

I have already listened to it. So I probably won't listen to the program "mai.n nasheme.n huu.N" again soon. (and it will be deleted in a few weeks for disk space). So I wont be able to list the songs-movie-year-MD-Lyr. sorry

but this is a good idea going forward. I will try to list the p-stats as I listen to the program.
(good plan, difficult to implement though)

Unfortunately this Tuesday i.e. on 12th July My net connection failed
so I couldn't know anything about what Mr. Rao's topic was. Let's hope that
he will play on Geeta next Tuesday on 19th. (and my connection will work
properly)
However, This is a weekly program and I have many recorded during the
last one year. I have the programs on singers Mukesh, Noorjehan, Sehgalji
Talat, Suman Kalyanpur, this Suraiya one and even on the great MS. I also have
on MDs like Anil Biswas, C Ramchandra, Naushad, Roshan, SDB, OPN, SJ, Khayyam etc. and also on lyricists Hasarat J., Rajendra Krishna, Shailendra and many more.

In fact I recorded a Geeta program last year but I am missing half part of it. I got only 1 hr of it. I used to keep these on backup cds. If this Tuesday they dont play on Geetaji then I'll find out the last year one (1 hr) and upload

sorry i had checked this today only .i really loved the way in which Mr rao tells host the program.I also missed the last time program,actually dhoomfm not working on my pc.so i asked in a post in sks here and given by r&d there.it's very good that you have all hj programs,you don't know how indebted we all are to you here also and for your posts in shamshad begum forum,you have completely fulfilled the long desires
last time it was kanan devi tribute.
i will also try to listen to it tomorrow.hope best with my dialup.radio is such an asset,i found geetaji's golden voice anchoring on vivdh bharti and u/l it immediately ,how happy i am i can't explain,. ,hope we get shamshad begum some day.
