This is the Telugu version of the film that was made in Hindi as "Sooryavansham" in 1999. Here are the songs from this film. I am unsure about the singer assignments. If you have the correct information, please kindly share.

(Dharmendra) Naukar Biwi Ka (1983)

This album clearly demonstrates the versatility of one of our greatest singers, Asha Bhosle. Here she sang several duets in her usual style. Yet in the song "O Mere Sajna" she shows how she can sing an altogether different song with so much melody and emotion. Here is this and other songs from this Bappida's album...

(Jeetendra) Pataal Bhairavi (1985)

This movie was a remake of the hit 1951 Telugu film "Patala Bhairavi". Songs from this album were uploaded earlier by one of our fellow members, Abdur Rehman, in the Telugu Regional section under the title "Legends of Telugu Cinema, NTR and ANR".

The film was based on the Arabian Nights fable, "Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp". It was cleverly adapted into a massive entertainer in Telugu with great performances by the principals and beautiful music by Ghantasala. The movie was also made in Tamil and enjoyed the same unprecedented success.

Buoyed by these successes, in 1952 a dubbed version of the Telugu film was released in Hindi with the name "Patal Bhairavi". I have some of the songs from the 1952 version that I will upload after I am done with the 1985 album.

Bappi Lahiri was presented here with an opportunity to compose music for a costume drama that one thinks would be different from the social musicals he was hitherto composing for. However, Bappida stuck to the same old proven formula for this subject as well and if you didn't know in advance that this was a costume drama; you may be easily lulled into thinking that it is another one of those southern extravaganzas with familiar and similar sounding songs.

I am uploading songs from this album in two back-to-back posts. Here is the first set...

Concluding Songs from "Pataal Bhairavi (1985)"...

Here are the rest of the songs from this album. Dimple had an item song in the film. The song is "Chumma Chumma" sung by Salma Agha. This song became a huge hit.

Sometimes both parts of the song "Ek Bechara" are packaged as one song in some CDs. In the film they appear nearly 40 minutes part and are separate parts. Also, the same thing is true with the song "Gali Gali Baat Chali". In the film, the two parts appear 8 minutes apart, but in the same scene. The first part is shot as a dance number by Silk Smitha. The second part is shot on Amjad Khan who was turned into a woman (yes, the great big Khan Saab dances dressed up as a woman) by the sorcerer.

Here are these songs...

Pataal Bhairavi (1952)

This was the first Hindi version of the 1951 Telugu hit "Patala Bhairavi". There are nine songs in this film. I am uploading five of them. Missing ones are shown in red italics in the table below. Please share these if you can. Thank you.

Also, the quality of these songs is poor. My apologies. I tried to clean these songs without any success. Therefore, I have decided to upload them at a lower bit rate.

Setting aside the quality, these are beautiful songs. With Geetaji's divinely melliflous voice and able support lent by the silken voice of Talat Saab and Durraniji, these are great to listen to. Ghantasala, one of the greatest singers of Telugu films, composed the beautiful music.

Here are the songs I have...

(Dharmendra) Razia Sultan (1982)

Here is a magnificent achievement from the uncompromising and awesomely talented Khayyam Saab. This album with so many songs is very rich in melodious music. Most of the songs from the album became very popular, especially solos by Lataji. Apart from those beautiful songs, I love the two solos by Kabban Mirza. What a great voice he has. He sways you away, especially with the song "Aayee Zanjeer Ki Jhankaar". An unforgettable and one of a kind rendition that stays with you for a long time.

I am uploading the songs from this marvelous album in three back-to-back posts. The first two posts contain all of the songs from the film. The third post contains several extended version songs. Please note that the sources for most of these songs are an original soundtrack album and a DVD. Some may have been contributed by the members of this Forum. Thank you.

Here are the songs in the first post...
