(Amitabh) Insaniyat (1994)
This movie was hampered by several unexpected hardships resulting in postponing of its release from 1991 to 1994. Nutan and Vinod Mehra, both of whom had roles in the film, passed away before completing the movie. Amitabh, once who ruled Bollywood like a king, had seen his fortunes crumbled as most of his recent releases suffered severe financial setbacks. When the movie finally was released, it was a resounding flop. Amitabh decided to “retire” from films when this movie couldn’t click with the audience. He appeared as a guest in a movie in 1996 and acted as a narrator for another movie he produced under his own ABCL banner. Then he returned to resume full acting duties with his home production “Mrityudaata” in 1997. This was one of the two movies of Nutan that was released after her death in 1991. “Naseebwaala” released in 1992 was the other one. I am uploading songs from this album in two back-to-back posts. (Jeetendra) Haisiyat (1984)
This otherwise a routine musical from Bappida has a real surprise. The songs "Dheere Dheere" by Yesudas and Vani Jairam are an absolute pleasure to listen. I am uploading these and other songs from this film in two back-to-back posts. Here is the first set of songs... Attached image(s) |

(Amitabh) Ghatak (1996)
Amitabh made a guest appearance in this film that had music composed by RD and Anu Malik. Malik composed one song, presumably after RD passed away in 1994. Some listings suggest that the lyrics for Malik's song "Koi Jaaye" were written by Rahat Indori. But per DVD and cover pictures, Majrooh Saab was the only lyricist listed. I am uploading songs from this album in two back-to-back posts. Here are the songs in the first post... Attached image(s) |

(Jeetendra) Kaamyab (1984)
Here is another routine drama from South with all the usual "masala" ingredients, Bappi, Indeewar, Jeetendra, Kader Khan, Amjad Khan, etc. The only difference here is that there is no Sridevi or Jayaprada in this film. Instead it is Shabana. Here are the songs from this album... Attached image(s) |

(Amitabh) Tere Mere Sapne (1996)
With most of his recent films failing to click at the box-office, Amitabh decided to take a plunge in to producing movies himself. His first venture as a producer was this film “Tere Mere Sapne”. The movie became a success thanks to some good songs and several fresh faces in the lead roles. The movie introduced three newcomers in Priya Gill, Arshad Warsi, and Chandrachur Singh. It also gave a major role to Simran Bagga who appeared earlier in only film in a supporting role, “Sanam Harjai” in 1995. Priya Gill enjoyed only a limited success as an actress. She appeared in only a handful of films. She was last seen in “LOC: Kargil” in 2003. Simran Bagga appeared in a few Hindi films after her success in this film, mostly in supporting roles. Then she had an opportunity to act in the films in South where she became a superstar in Tamil films. She was also a successful actress in Telugu films. Chandrachur Singh also starred in 1996 in Gulzar’s highly acclaimed “Maachis” for which he won the Fimfare Best Debut Award. In spite of these back-to-back initial successes his career never took off. He starred in about 20 films and was last seen in a recent film “Chaar Dn Ki Chandni”. Arshad Warsi initially struggled to find the success he enjoyed with this film as most of his films failed at the box-office. But in 2003, he appeared in the film “Munnabhai M.B.B.S.” in a supporting role. His portrayal in that film as “Circuit” with comic overtones became a huge hit and since then his career has been on the rise. Here are the songs from this film...
