(Dharmendra) The Burning Train (1980)
This popular movie came for the B.R. Chopra house that gave so many hits. It has a huge cast and was directed by Ravi Chopra. It was inspired by series of Hollywood hits that dealt with disaster themes. These started with the the success of films like "The Poseidon Adventure" in 1972 followed by "The Towering Inferno" made in 1974. "The Burning Train" movie boasts several good songs composed by RD with the qawwali "Pal Do Pal Ka Saath Hamaara" taking the top honors. I am uploading these songs from an original soundtrack album in two back-to-back posts. Here are the songs in the first post... Attached image(s) |

(Amitabh) Professor ki Padosan (1993)
This was the last movie Sanjeev Kumar was in before he passed away because of a massive heart attack he suffered. After his death 10 of his completed films were released with this being the last film. The film was only three quarters complete when he died. The story was altered and the movie was completed without Kumar's presence. Amitabh did not act in the film but was the narrator of the story. I am uploading these songs in two back to back posts. The second post contains songs with introductions by Amitabh and dialogues. Here are the songs in the first post... Attached image(s) |

(Dharmendra) Aas Paas (1981)
This movie will be remembered forever as the one in which the unparalleled singer of our times, the great Rafi Saab recorded his last songs for a film. The producers honored him by dedicating this movie in his memory. Rafi Saab has a beautiful duet with Lataji and a bit piece of solo. Here are these and other songs from this album... (Jeetendra) Prem Tapasya (1983)
This movie was based on the Telugu film “Premaabhishekam” which was released a year before this. The Telugu film was a huge hit and it was only natural that producers decided to make it in Hindi. The Hindi film didn’t make many waves and died quietly. Dasari Narayana Rao (see his picture below) directed both Telugu and Hindi versions of the film. He is known for several traits. He is a film writer (lyrics and dialogues), producer, actor, director, journalist, publisher, magazine editor, and politically active. One of the most productive and prolific people in the film industry, Dasari worked as a dialogue writer and lyricist in more than 250 films. He produced about 60 films and directed over 150, mostly in Telugu. Besides Telugu, he also worked in Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada language films. I am uploading songs from the Hindi version in two back-to-back posts. I will also upload songs from the Telugu original following these. Now for the songs in the first post… Attached image(s) |

(Amitabh) Insaniyat (1994)
This movie was hampered by several unexpected hardships resulting in postponing of its release from 1991 to 1994. Nutan and Vinod Mehra, both of whom had roles in the film, passed away before completing the movie. Amitabh, once who ruled Bollywood like a king, had seen his fortunes crumbled as most of his recent releases suffered severe financial setbacks. When the movie finally was released, it was a resounding flop. Amitabh decided to “retire” from films when this movie couldn’t click with the audience. He appeared as a guest in a movie in 1996 and acted as a narrator for another movie he produced under his own ABCL banner. Then he returned to resume full acting duties with his home production “Mrityudaata” in 1997. This was one of the two movies of Nutan that was released after her death in 1991. “Naseebwaala” released in 1992 was the other one. I am uploading songs from this album in two back-to-back posts. Here are the songs in the first post… Attached image(s) |
