(Sunil) Kshatriya (1993)

Divya Bharati, who shone like a morning star for only a brief period of time, was among this star-studded film. She entered into the movies when she was only 14 years old starting her career in the Telugu film industry. She later entered into Hindi films. She died under tragic and mysterious circumstances in 1993 when she was only 19. She appeared in 14 Hindi films, five of them in 1993, including this one.

I am posting songs from this film in two back-to-back posts. It has some good songs but the real winner is the melodious "Sapne Mein Sakhi" by Kavita Krishnamurthy. She was absolutely magnificent in singing this lovely song. It seems like she just disappeared from the singing scene all of a sudden. With so much talent sometimes one wonders what happens to these types of singers who has such golden voice and had a decent popular track record...

(Raaj) Dooj Ka Chaand (1964)

Whenever Roshan Ji and Sahir Saab got together they produced winners. Their collaboration in nine plus movies produced several musical gems. Songs from this album are no exception. I am uploading these songs on request in two back-to-back posts. The first post contains all the songs from the film. The second post has several extended version songs.

Here are the details of the songs in the first post and the songs themselves. There is a song in this post where the Hemmady sisters, Suman and Shyama, sing together a song, "Jhaankti Hai Meri Aankhon Se”. Perhaps this is the only time they got together to perform in a movie...

(Manoj) Do Badan (1966)

Raj Khosla directed this hard on luck young lovers tragic story that was sometimes hard to swallow because of its assumptions about people and their behaviors. One redeeming feature of the film was its beautiful music by Ravi. Almost all songs were huge hits and haven't lost their appeal in 45 years since they were first heard. Apart from Lataji' fine solo and the couple of lovelies of Rafi Saab, there are two beautiful solos by Asha. Her solo "Jab Chali Thandi Hawa" is one of my favorites where Asha seems like puts deeply felt feelings into the song to make it such a memorable listening experience.

I am uploading these songs on request. Almost all of them are from an original soundtrack album with a couple of exceptions noted. Here are these memorable songs...

(Amitabh) Aakhree Raasta (1986)

Amitabh played father and son in the same movie many times. This was another one of them. With Amitabh having problems regaining his magic touch, this movie with familiar theme that was told umpteen times before surfaced. Somehow it became a modest hit. Here are the songs from this album...

(Rajendra) Hamrahi (1963)

This movie based on a hit Telugu film became one of the biggest hits made by L.V. Prasad. One of the main reason was its beautiful songs. I have a couple of my favorites in this album. Lata's "Mann Re" is melodiously mesmerizing. The other one is the title song, a duet, "Mujh Ko Apne Gale Laga Lo". This was sung by that seldom used talent of Mubarak Begumji with Rafi Saab.
