Concluding Songs from "Palki (1967)" ... Here are the rest of the songs from this fine album ... canany one upload !! Palki [1967] - Beemar-e-Muhabbat Aur Bhi Hain (with Mumtaz & Chorus) For me, singing sad songs often has a way of healing a situation. It gets the hurt out in the open into the light, out of the darkness.

(Amitabh) Satte Pe Satta (1982)
This movie was based on the Hollywood hit musical, “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” starring Jane Powell and Howard Keel in the leads. It was released in 1954 and was nominated for several Oscars. The movie boasted 14 songs and some of the best dances ever put on the screen. It won an Oscar for the Best Musical Score. “Satte Pe Satta” though inspired by the English version mentioned stood its own ground. It did have some great music and a palatable Indianized plot. It is not easy to compose songs when it involved seven women and seven men. Bur RD pulls it off magnificently. I am uploading these songs in two back-to-back posts. Here is the first set of songs including a special with a lengthy introduction by Gulashan Bawra, the lyricist, talking about the challenges they faced with the musical in general and the song "Dilbar Mere" in particular… This post has been edited by swarapriya: Aug 30 2011, 05:32 AM Attached image(s) |

(Dharmendra) Aaye Din Bahaar Ke (1966)
This is one of the beautiful albums from LP. In this every song was a huge hit. The title song by Lataji, "Suno Sajna", is just absolutely melodious. I am uploading songs from an original soundtrack album in two back-to-back posts on request. Here are the songs in the first set... Attached image(s) |

(Jeetendra) Khilona (1970)
This movie was based on a hit Telugu film "Punarjanma (1963)". "Khilona" is the film in which Mumtaz has finally arrived. After appearing in many films that are considered to be "B" grade, or in "A" grade films only in supporting roles, she played the lead role in this movie. For the first time she got noticed not just for her good looks only, but for her acting skills. The fine effort fetched her the Filmfare Best Actress award. The movie also walked away with the Best Picture award. The movie boasts some fine songs. Both solos by Rafi Saab and the solo by Lata are catchy and were extremely popular when the movie was released. I am uploading all songs from an original soundtrack album on request below. Now for the details of the songs and the songs themselves... Attached image(s) |
