(Rajendra) Ye Rishta Na Tootay (1981)
For some reason or other Suresh Wadkar disappeared from the singing scene altogether. Somehow he fell out of favor of most music directors. It is too bad. He has such a great voice too. For example, take a look at the songs from this album. He has two duets in this. But the standout song is the one with Anuradha Paudwal. He is absolutely fabulous in the song "Rim Jhim". Here is this and other songs from this album... Attached image(s) |

(Sunil) Usne Kaha Tha (1960)
Here is another fine film that came from the production house of Bimal Roy. This one was produced by Bimalda and was directed by Moni Bhattacharjee. Like any movie by Bimalda it has all the ingredients that make his movies so special; good story, great unfolding of the story, superb characterizations, brilliant black and white photography, and melodious music. This movie has all of this but somehow it doesn't give the feeling of satisfaction. It falls short of the high expectations of a true Bimalda movie. In the end you remember it for its brilliant craftsmanship but the beats are missing from where its heart is. Salilda composed several great songs for this movie. The songs like "Aaha Rim Jhim", "Balkhaati Sharmaati", and "Machalti Arzoo" are very melodious to listen to. But for me the standout song is Maqdoom Mohiuddeen's memorable "Jaanewaale Sipaahi Se Poochho". This inspired song was made more memorable because of the soulful singing of the pair Sabita Banerjee and Mannada. It lingers in your thoughts for a long long time. Here are these beautiful songs from this movie from an original soundtrack album, uploading on request... Attached image(s) |

Thanks for uploading Usne Kaha Tha songs Swarapriya. I sometimes wonder how difficult can it be for singers to sing for Salilda. Every song has something new to offer.

Swarapriya, thanks a ton for the "Usne Kaha Tha" songs. I used to have a tape that had three Salil C. films on it including this one, but seem to have lost it, and was looking for these songs in good quality. As has happened so *many* times earlier, the search stopped at one of your threads!
Thanks and warm regards, Abhay This post has been edited by abhayp: Jul 28 2011, 11:09 AM |

I never gave thought to what you are suggesting here, Pratul. Yes, there is definitely some truth in what you're saying. Cheers. -S |

(Amitabh) Yaarana (1981)
This is one of the beautiful albums from Rajesh Roshan. Almost all songs from this film became chart busters. My favorite of the album is Kishoreda's touching rendering of the song "Chhoo Kar Mere Mann Ko". This song is really special and I love the way Kishoreji sang it. Here are all the songs from this pleasant winner... This post has been edited by swarapriya: Jul 30 2011, 01:18 PM Attached image(s) |

(Jeetendra) Lok Parlok (1979)
This movie was remade from the Telugu film "Yama Gola" made in 1978. The Telugu film starred N.T. Rama Rao and was a massive hit. Interestingly the Telugu film itself was a remake of Rama Rao's earlier hit film "Devanthakudu" made in 1960. Also, this movie was remade in Telugu, one more time, in 2007. It was called "Yama Donga". This was also a hit. It starred NTR Jr, who is the grandson of Rao. I will upload songs from the 1978 Telugu film in this thread immediately following the Hindi film songs. Here are the songs from the Hindi version... Attached image(s) |
