(Manoj) Jai Hind (1999)
Here we are at the end of the line of films of Manoj Kumar. Altogether Manoj was involved in 60 movies of which he acted in 58. His acting career started with “Fashion” in 1957 and ended with “Maidan-E-Jung” in 1995. “Jai Hind” was the last film he made. Even though he did not act in it he produced, directed, and wrote lyrics for five of the seven songs for it. “Kranti” made in 1981 was his last hit. After this he made only 10 or so films, all of which were flops. He did write lyrics for some songs for “Malik Ek” released in 2010 that was based on the life of Shirdi Sai Baba. In a professional career spanning 40+ years, Manoj was bestowed with several awards. He received Padma Shri in 1992. In 2009 he received the most coveted award “Dadasaheb Phalke Award”. His “Upkar” in 1968 won the National Award for the Second Best Feature Film. He received many Filmfare awards in various categories. In 1972 he received the Best Actor Award for “Beimaan”. For “Upkar” he received the Filmfare Awards for “Best Picture”, “Best Director”, “Best Story”, and “Best Dialogues”. In 1975 he won yet another Best Director Award from Filmfare for “Roti Kapda Aur Makaan”. In 1999, he won the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award. Manoj is a devotee of Shirdi Sai Baba. He made a film on his life in 1977. Shri Sai Baba Sansthan Trust named a road after him in Shirdi called “Manoj Kumar Goswami Road”. We started this thread on Manoj way back on December 24, 2009 with his very first film “Fashion” in 1957. This will be the last new posting for this thread on Manoj. Incidentally, this film also was the last one composed by Laxmikant & Pyarelal together before Laxmi passed away. Here are the songs… Attached image(s) |

(Rajendra) Zindagi Aur Khwab (1961) Here are the songs that I am re-uploading on request... What an album this is - one of Dattaram's best scores. I especially love "kaTiile kaTiile nashiile nashiile" - many years ago, before sharing on the Net became widespread, I hunted far and wide for this song and finally bought the VCD and got the song off it. One minor correction: the female voice in the duet "na jaane kahaa.N tum the" is Suman Kalyanpur. Lata's voice doesn't feature anywhere in this film. Warm regards, Abhay This post has been edited by abhayp: Mar 14 2011, 10:28 AM |

Warm regards, Abhay Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this Dattaram's beautiful album. Some people never seem to have gotten their proper due and Dattaram is definitely falls in that category. Many thanks for finding the error in my singer assignment. I made the suggested change. Thanks again. Cheers, S |

(Rajendra) Do Jasoos (1975)
Songs from this album were recently uploaded in the "Raj Kapoor" thread in this directory. The interesting thing about this album is that out of seven songs, five were composed by Ravindra Jain and the other two were composed by the singer Shailendra Singh. Besides, Shailendra Singh also acted in the movie. All of these songs from an original soundtrack album are available starting at the following location... http://www.hamaraforums.com/index.php?show...pid=674228& This post has been edited by swarapriya: Mar 16 2011, 12:25 AM |
