(Dev) Baat Ek Raat Ki (1962)
This is another beautiful album from the master of music, S.D. Burman. I think the song "Na Tum Humein Jaano" is the one to remember for ages. Love you Burmanda... I am uploading songs from this album in two back-to-back posts. The first post contains all songs from an original soundtrack album. The second post has several specials. Here are the songs in the first post... Attached image(s) |

(Dilip) Kanoon Apna Apna (1989)
In this film Dilip Saab plays a highly principled and an uncompromising government law enforcer, a collector, whereas his son, played by Sanjay Dutt, plays a rebel who doesn't believe in his dad's approach to problem solving. Nothing new here and not much different from some other films we have seen. The difference is in two things. The ending of the film is a bit surprising where the old values give way to new rules. The other difference is, a big one, the presence of Dilip Saab. He plays these characters with such command and authority that one wonders how many actors like him will come our way in our present or future. Bappida composed songs for this film. Most of them are pleasing to listening to. Here are these... Attached image(s) |

(Kishore) Akalmand (1966)
In 1960, actor I.S. Johar wrote, produced and directed a film called “Bewaqoof” with himself and Kishore Kumar starring in it. So it was a question of time that it was followed by “Akalmand”. This film also starring the same duo was again written by I.S. Johar. It tells the story of a thief disguised as a “saint” and a “detective” who is hot on his trail. The saint-thief was played by Johar whereas Kishoreda played the pursuant. Unfortunately the film is a total disappointment. The only redeeming feature of this film was its music. OP once again delivers as expected and every song is just an absolute delight. It has his unmistakable stamp of rhythm on all of them. I am uploading songs from this album in two back-to-back posts. The first post contains all songs from the film. The second post contains various music clips. Here are the songs in the first post… Attached image(s) |

(Dev) Kinare Kinare (1963)
This film was directed by Dev’s brother Chetan Anand who also co-wrote its screenplay. Nyaya Sharma was the other write who wrote its story , lyrics, and dialogues. The elder Anand also had a major role in the film. This album by Jaidevji is a classic. It has so many beautiful songs, all rich in melody. Just about every song is a standout. However, I do have one favorite among these. It is Rafi Saab's soul stirring rendition of the song "Teri Tasveer". These are the types of songs that make you weak, that make you feel helpless, that make you think, that make you lose your heart, soul, mind, and thoughts. They simply make you cry. I cherish this song even after repeat listening... I am uploading these beautiful songs in two back-to-back posts. Here are the songs in the first post... Attached image(s) |

(Dev) Tere Ghar Ke Samne (1963)
This film starred for the last time together the handsome pair of Nutan and Dev. Dev was dashing and with his debonair looks simply steals your heart. The movie was written and directed by Vijay Anand, Dev's younger brother. Vijay also had a cameo in the film. But the real deal of this movie is its ever so youthful and exuberant music composed by Burmanda. Every song became a huge hit and they haven't lost their appeal or luster after nearly 50 years. RD was his assistant. I am uploading songs from this film in three back-to-back posts. The first post contains all songs, except two, from the film from an original soundtrack album. The other two are from a DVD. It turns out that 6 out of the 8 songs are of longer duration in the film. I am uploading these in the second post. The third post contains some music clips from the film and few instrumentals. Here are the songs from this film including Lataji's version of rendering of the song "Dil Ka Bhanwar". Incidentally, part of the music from the song "Yeh Tanhaai" appears in Burmanda's hit musical film "Ziddi (1964)' in the song "Raat Ka Sama". Now for the beautiful songs from this post...
