(Rekha) Maati Maangey Khoon (1984)
One of the distinguishing features of this Raj Khosla directed film is the ghazal sung by Ghulam Ali Saab. This is one of his famous ghazals. I haven't seen the film so not sure how it was used. Unfortunately, the quality of this song is not as crisp as others. Here is this ghazal and other fine songs from this RD composed drama... Attached image(s)

The verbiage in the song is the same in longer versions as well except each of them has extra music preceding them. (Rekha) Utsav (1984)
This period drama was produced by Shashi Kapoor on a grand scale. In spite of good music and a sensuous performance by Rekha the movie was a flop. Shashi suffered a great deal financially after this setback. There are only four songs in the film but all of them are very good. LP sparkles here with songs like "Mann Kyon Behka", my favorite song of the album, followed by "Neelam Ke Nabh" and Suresh Wadkar's "Saanjhe Dhale". Anuradha Paudwal won the Best Female Playback Singer Award from Filmfare for the song "Mere Mann". To me this was the only song from the film that was least appealing. It was a group song and somehow Anuradha was singled out for the award. I never can understand how these things work. Here are the songs from this album from an original soundtrack album... Here is another retread with a story that was told umpteen times before. It has similar refurbished uninspiring songs. The movie endlessly boasts the same contrived insipid situations that doesn't do much to perk up your interest. I am not a fan of Amrita Singh, but interestingly, this movie gave her a meaty role and I thought she did a fine job. I am uploading songs from this film in two back-to-back posts.
