As an April Fool special I am re-uploading this beautiful album by Shankar & Jaikishan. Here every song is a beauty and some of the songs are still as lovely as they were composed 47 years back. This is when Rafi Saab was at the top of his game and all of his solos just sparkle. So are his duets. Lata also joins the festivities with two beautiful solos of her own. I am uploading these songs in two back-to-back posts. The first post contains all songs from an original soundtrack album. The second post contains a couple of extended versions.

Concluding Songs from "Jawaani (1984)"...

Here are the rest of the songs from this fine album. I am also including in this post a couple of specials. One is of the song "Tu Rootha" with an introduction by the lyricist Gulshan Bawra who talks about how the song came about. This is taken from the album "R.D. Burman - Untold Stories (Gulshan Bawra)". The other is an instrumental of the same song done on guitar by James & Jerry.

(Waheeda) Naseeb (1981)

I read in some interview Waheeda gave recently that she never acted opposite Shammi Kapoor in a movie. This is incredible. They did appear in Manmohan Desai's "Allah-Rakha" in 1986, but not playing lovers. While Manmohan Desai was shooting for "Naseeb" he wanted to include several stars as guests in the song "John Jani Janardhan". When he approached Shammi to appear as a guest, Shammi apparently suggested that he would like to appear with Waheeda. Desai agreed. In the song sequence of "John Jani", they appear together hand-in-hand. This was the account Waheeda shared in her interview.

Anyway, songs from this film were recently uploaded in the "Raj Kapoor" thread in this directory and are available starting at the following location...
