This song was sung by Mahendra Kapoor in some 80s new year eve show, doordarshan presentation. Its a philosophical number sung by Mahendra Kapoor and composed by Naushad. I have a mic recording on some tape; and I can't seem to find the tape. It would be nice if somebody could post it here:

The song has some 7 stanzas... some that I remember:

Kiye Ja Sabka Bhala, Kiye Ja Sabka Bhala,
Aaj Sab Kuch Hai Tera, Kal Ka Hai Kisko Pata?,
Kiye Ja Sabka Bhala (3)

Shaam Keheti Hai Koyi Dam Mein Savera Hoga,
Yahi Keheta Hai Ujaala, Ke Andhera Hoga,
Tu Musaphir Hai Yeh, Duniya Hai Musaphir Khana,
Yahan Har Waqt Laga Reheta Hai Aana Jaana,
Ek Ne Aake Basera Liya, Aur Ek Chala,
Kiye Ja Sab Ka Bhala, Aaj Sab Kuch Hai Tera Kalka Hai Kisko Pata

Duniya Walon Ko Sada, Duniya Se Darte Dekha,
Khagayi Sabko Magar, Kisko Na Marta Dekha?
Zindagi Ka Yeh Toofan,
Zindagi Ka Yeh Toofan, Guzar Jaayega,
Naam Rehejaayega, Insaan Guzar Jaayega,
Karle Kuch Kaam Bhalayi Se, Buraayi Ko Mita,
Kiye Ja Sab Ka Bhala, Aaj Sab Kuch Hai Tera Kalka Hai Kisko Pata

Har Haqueeqat Ko Yahan Khwab Samajh Aankhon Ka,
Toot Jaayega Har Ik Taar, Yahan Sanson Ka,
Ghar Basakarte Hai Duniya Mein Ujadne Ke Liye,
Log Milte Hein Yahan, Milke Bichchadne Ke Liye,
Sab Chale Jaate Hein, Reheta Hai Yahan Kaun Sada?
Kiye Ja Sab Ka Bhala, Aaj Sab Kuch Hai Tera, Kalka Hai Kisko Pata

Bewafa Duniya Hai Naushad Tujeh Yaad Rahe,
Kisko Kya Gham Koyi Abaad Ke Barbaad Rahe,
Koyi Hansta Hai Yahan, Aake Koyi Rota Hai,
Ek Tamasha Hai Jo Har Roz Yahan Hota Hai,
Yaad Rakh Itna Ke Duniya Mein Tera Kaam Hai Kya,
Kiye Ja Sabka Bhala, Kiye Ja Sabka Bhala,
Aaj Sabkuch Hai Tera Kalka Hai Kisko Pata

Kiye Ja Sabka Bhala (2)

Found this song... two more stanzas:

Na To Sehera Hai Yahan Koyi, Na Gulshan Koyi,
Na Koyi Dost Kisika, Hai Na Dushman Koyi,
Kuch Na Saakhi Hai Na, Maikash Hai Na, Maikhana Hai,
Sab Ki Buniyaad Haqueeqat Nahin, Afsaana Hai,
Dekha Voh Khatam Huyi Raat, Voh Suraj Nikla,
Kiye Ja Sabka Bhala...

Sunliya Tune Jo Kaanon Ne Sunaaya Tujhko
Wohi Dekha Ke Jo Aankhon Ne Dikhaya Tujhko,
Lutf Tho Jab Hai, Faza Ruh Ko Garamati Rahe,
Khidkiyan Band Rahe, Aur Hawa Aati Rahe,
Varna Jeewan Mein Nahin, Kuch Bhi Andheron Ke Siva,
Kiyeja Sabka Bhala, Aaj Sab Kuch Hai Tera,
Kal Ka Hai Kisko Pata

kuch bhi nahin hai tera mol, boli na badi bol, khilona tu maati ka...

Pradeep

Is it a movie song? If so, what is the name of the movie?

Socrates said, "The unexamined life is not worth living". I fear if I examined it, then according to Heisenberg uncertainty principle it would somehow change. After all, we are just particles.

Here is the lovely number. Sorry for the ordinary audio quality. As said earlier this was recorded holding a microphone to TV speaker. I've eliminated hiss and hum noise.

This is from a program named Indradhanush, which was hosted by Hema Malini. First song that she played was in tribute to Rafi Sahab. This is from the time when Kishore Da was with us.

I have seen this on video with Naushad orchestrating and there must have been over a hundred musicians!

Great lyrics, powerful song, and powerfully rendered. He was outstanding in the last part of the song. Thanks, Pradeep

Don’t know who the lyricist was but Naushad managed to persuade him to add in his name in one verse!

Its Naushad's own composition. I remember Hema Malini introducing it as Naushadji ki rachna.
