hello friends,
here is one of my favourite soundtracks -footpath.it was a landmark film in the careers of khayyam sahab and ashaji.
khayyam sahab who earlier gave music under the name of sharmaji started using ''khayyam'' as his name.
ashaji for the first time proved that she can do complete justice to a full soundtrack like lata,geeta and shamshad.
although ''naya daur'' is often identified as the film which made asha bhosle;i feel the credit should go to ''footpath''.1953 imho was her breakthrough year where she started to overtake geetaji and shamshad begum.
the details are-
1]-so ja mere pyare,so ja so ja,ankhiyon ke taare so ja-asha;
2]-kaisa jadu dala re balme-asha,
3]-aa ra ra ram...suhana hai yeh mausham-asha;
4]-sham-e-gham ki kasam-talat,
5]-piya aa ja re-asha;
6]-thandi pawan chale-talat,premlata,ashima banerji

song number 6 does not feature in the vcd and is from khalid mahmood's website on his father.
hfgk also mentions that a song ''taare hanse rooun mein balam nahin aaye re'' was also recorded in sandhya mukherji's voice.but it was not used in the film nor a record released
all the songs are credited to majrooh sultanpuri and sardar jafri.
happy listening,
mahesh

Yasmin,

The following songs should be present in Khayyam's filmography thread.
http://www.hamaraforums.com/index.php?s=&a...st&p=435114

Footpath (1953)

<Sardar Jafri, Majrooh Sultanpuri> Asha Bhosle:
aarara rum, aarara ra ra ra rum ...
suhaana yeh mausam, salona mora bhaai, likhenge(?) saare dil ke yeh gam

<Sardar Jafri> Asha Bhosle:
kaisa jaadu daala re, balmaa na jaane re

<Majrooh Sultanpuri> Asha Bhosle:
piyaa aajaa, piya aaja re dil mera pukaar, piya aaja re

<Sardar Jafri, Majrooh Sultanpuri> Talat Mehamood:
shaam-e-gam ki qasam, aaj gamagin hain ham

<Majrooh Sultanpuri> Asha Bhosle:
sojaa mere pyaare, sojaa soja, ankhiyon ke taare sojaa soja

<Sardar Jafri, Majrooh Sultanpuri> Premlata, Ashima Banerjee, Talat Mehamood:
tandi pawan chale, saanjh dale, koo koo koyal bole, jiyaa dole jiyaa dole

<Sardar Jafri, Majrooh Sultanpuri> Sandhya Mukherjee:
taare hanse rooun mein balam nahin aaye re
(this song is not in movie or record; difficult to get)

If you fail to find any songs in that thread, please let me know, I will reupload them.

Yasmin,

This is how the Filmography thread is setup.
When we started the thread, all song titles were in Red. As members locate and upload a song, that song's title changes from Red to Black. If you still see a song appearing in red, it means that we haven't yet found an audio for it. Romeo Juliet song is one such unlucky song.

Please go through the thread, I am certain you will find songs from Parda and Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke.
Inspite of browsing the thread, if you don't find an audio, we will gladly re-upload them for you.

Hari Ram
