(Jeetendra) Kaamyab (1984)
Here is another routine drama from South with all the usual "masala" ingredients, Bappi, Indeewar, Jeetendra, Kader Khan, Amjad Khan, etc. The only difference here is that there is no Sridevi or Jayaprada in this film. Instead it is Shabana. Here are the songs from this album... Attached image(s) |

(Amitabh) Tere Mere Sapne (1996)
With most of his recent films failing to click at the box-office, Amitabh decided to take a plunge in to producing movies himself. His first venture as a producer was this film “Tere Mere Sapne”. The movie became a success thanks to some good songs and several fresh faces in the lead roles. The movie introduced three newcomers in Priya Gill, Arshad Warsi, and Chandrachur Singh. It also gave a major role to Simran Bagga who appeared earlier in only film in a supporting role, “Sanam Harjai” in 1995. Priya Gill enjoyed only a limited success as an actress. She appeared in only a handful of films. She was last seen in “LOC: Kargil” in 2003. Simran Bagga appeared in a few Hindi films after her success in this film, mostly in supporting roles. Then she had an opportunity to act in the films in South where she became a superstar in Tamil films. She was also a successful actress in Telugu films. Chandrachur Singh also starred in 1996 in Gulzar’s highly acclaimed “Maachis” for which he won the Fimfare Best Debut Award. In spite of these back-to-back initial successes his career never took off. He starred in about 20 films and was last seen in a recent film “Chaar Dn Ki Chandni”. Arshad Warsi initially struggled to find the success he enjoyed with this film as most of his films failed at the box-office. But in 2003, he appeared in the film “Munnabhai M.B.B.S.” in a supporting role. His portrayal in that film as “Circuit” with comic overtones became a huge hit and since then his career has been on the rise. Here are the songs from this film... (Amitabh) Mrityudaata (1997)
Amitabh’s maiden home production “Tere Mere Sapne (1996)” raised hopes that his company ABCL will provide opportunities to young and promising folks in his subsequent films. But alas, with his second film under ABCL, Amitabh went back to the same old formula that was tried so many times. Cine-going public just got tired of the retread of the old formula. Amitabh himself realized it too late before this film was released. He hurriedly had his team put together a last minute song with Daler Mehndi to bolster the movie’s prospects. The song itself was a riot and helped the film a bit, but in the end the movie was a total disappointment. Apart from Daler’s song there are several other good songs in the film. Here are these… Attached image(s) |

(Dharmendra) Putt Jattan De (1981) - A Punjabi Film
In this Punjabi hit film Dharmendra had a guest role. I am uploading all songs from this film from a DVD and MP3 album. Please bear in mind that the quality of these songs is fair to good. I had problems identifying the singers of some of the songs. Also, I am not sure of the lyricists. If you have this information available, please kindly share. Thank you. I must confess that I have no knowledge of Punjabi language. This is the reason I had problems identifying proper names of the songs listed. Please accept my apologies for this because it is not intentional. It stems from the ignorance of the language that occasionally makes it to miss out some of the words. There are plenty of songs in this film. I am uploading these in two back-to-back posts. Here is the first set... Attached image(s) |

(Amitabh) Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (1998)
Amitabh was desperately looking for a hit for some time. Finally it happened. This film, in which he was paired with Govinda, and directed by David Dhawan who made himself a specialist in making successful comedies was a modest hit. Amitabh was so sure that this movie was going to hit the bull's eye that he purchased its distribution rights for some of the territories. The movie itself was loosely based on Shakespeare's play "Comedy of Errors" and borrowed heavily from the 1995 Hollywood hit "Bad Boys". Both of these subjects enjoyed proven winning formulas. To add to the fun, the movie boasted several hit songs with the music composed by Viju Shah. Here are the songs from this album... Attached image(s) |
