(Shailendra) Naukri (1954)
This Bimalda's film deals with unemployment. Remember the movie was made in 1954. Seems like it could have been made recently as the subject is still topical. The song "Chhota Sa Ghar" was very popular. Interestingly this song is based on a song in Bengali sung by Kishoreda, "Hey Lo Baadal". It was composed by Chitta Roy and lyrics were written by Gaouriprasanna Majumdar. I am uploading that song here as a reference. Hrishikesh Mukherjee was the editor of the film. Here are the songs from this film... Dear Swarapriya,
In the movie Ladki (1953), the song "Aurat Na Ho To Zindagi Hain" is actually a duet song. One is definitely KK but I could not identify the other male voice. I think it is C. Ramchandra himself (not 100% sure). If anybody clears my doubt, I will be happy.... Regards Soumik (Rajinder Krishan) Ladki (1953) I am re-uploading these songs on request... M.V. Raman, who earlier introduced Vyjayanti Mala to Hindi audience in “Bahar (1951)”, is back again for the same concern AVM. He also has Kishoreda who was also in “Bahar”. I saw this movie recently and was pretty disappointed. It is very dated and some of the characters are simply revolting. Even the makeup was done sloppily (Randhir for example). This movie was very very difficult to watch. As in the case with “Bahar”, Vyjayanti Mala dominates the proceedings in this film also. Her other costar is Anjali Devi, a popular star from the Telugu film industry. Anjali Devi produced and starred in the 1958 folklore film “Suvarna Sundari” that has fabulous award winning music by her husband Adi Narayana Rao. There are tons of songs in the film. Lataji sang all the songs for Vyjayanti Mala. Geetaji sang for Anjali Devi. Screen credits list Sudarshanam & Dhaniram (encrypted as SD in the “Music” column in the table below) as the music directors. But I found various references that credit C. Ramchandra (encrypted as CR) as another composer of some other songs. I am hoping someone from our Forum can verify this. I am uploading songs from this film in two back-to-back posts. Here is the first set… |

(Anand Bakshi) Sajan (1969)
This is a typical LP & Bakshi Saab album. You get a feeling that you have heard these type of songs before. No novelty. Almost all songs are picturized within the first hour of the movie when the story revolves around the romance between the principals. Then the movie turns into a murder suspense. You know right away that all of the accused are innocent but the real identity of the killer is not known until the end of the movie. A lean looking Shatrughan Sinha appears in a small role as a cop trying to assist his captain in solving the murder. I did not know that Sinha was this lean when he first came on board into the films. The fabrication the heroine weaves in this film with the theater owner that a millionaire is in love with her was later borrowed by the hit film “Ghajini (2008)” whose main story was inspired by the hit English film released in 2000, “Memento”. Here are the songs from this film, “Sajan”… Attached image(s) Attached File(s) Aye_Mere_Meharbaan.rar ( 10.91 MB ) Number of hits: 4 by members Baansuri_Tihaari_Nandlaal.rar ( 7.8 MB ) Number of hits: 4 by members Resham_Ki_Dori.rar ( 8.48 MB ) Number of hits: 4 by members Saajan_Saajan_Pukaaroon__L_.rar ( 7.54 MB ) Number of hits: 4 by members Saajan_Saajan_Pukaaroon__R_.rar ( 4.73 MB ) Number of hits: 4 by members Dance_Music.rar ( 4.68 MB ) Number of hits: 4 by members Sajan_Title_Music.rar ( 1.89 MB ) Number of hits: 7 by members |

You clear my doubt, though C.Ramchandra has not been credited in the fllm or elsewhere. (Hasrat Jaipuri) Jadoo Nagri (1961)
The story of this movie revolves around sorcery and sword play with very bad special effects. Even usually reliable Tripathiji disappoints with his music compositions. The songs “Loot Liya” and “Nigaahon Mein” offer about an average fare. However the movie has good background score with shehnai instrument dominating the proceedings. The movie was in black and white but all the songs were picturized in color. I am uploading all songs and a few music clips in two back-to-back posts. Here are the songs… Attached image(s) Attached File(s) Aankhen_Meri_Jaadoo_Nagri.rar ( 4.14 MB ) Number of hits: 9 by members Dekho_Aayee_Basant_Bahaar.rar ( 3.5 MB ) Number of hits: 11 by members Jaadoo_Bhare_Tore_Naina_Katile.rar ( 4.3 MB ) Number of hits: 11 by members Kaise_Videsi_Se_Naina_Lage_Hain.rar ( 3.68 MB ) Number of hits: 11 by members Loot_Liya_Re_Jiya_Loot_Liya.rar ( 7.29 MB ) Number of hits: 11 by members Nigaahon_Mein_Tum_Ho.rar ( 4.29 MB ) Number of hits: 14 by members |

(Majrooh) Akeli Mat Jaiyo (1963)
This film starts out with a lot of promise but soon fizzles down to a senseless drama. Apart from the beautiful Meena Kumari, one of the highlights of the film is the music by Madan Mohan Saab. Mohan Saab worked with Majrooh Saab in only a handful of films (seven to be exact) but each time they collaborated the results were excellent. This movie is no exception. There are at least three songs that stand out in this film. These are: the title song “Akeli Mat Jaiyo” by Lata, Asha’s club dance song “Thodi Deir”, and the unforgettable Lata’s solo, “Woh Jo Milte The Kabhi”. I am uploading these and other songs, plus a couple of specials in two back-to-back posts. Here are the songs in the first post… Attached image(s) Attached File(s) Akeli_Mat_Jaiyo.rar ( 8.46 MB ) Number of hits: 3 by members Woh_Jo_Milte_The_Kabhi.rar ( 5.04 MB ) Number of hits: 4 by members Woh_Jo_Milte_The_Kabhi__with_Ameen_Sayani_s___Lata_s_intro_.rar ( 5.61 MB ) Number of hits: 1 by members Woh_Jo_Milte_The_Kabhi__A_.rar ( 4.71 MB ) Number of hits: 3 by members Yeh_Hawa_Yeh_Mastaana_Mausam.rar ( 7 MB ) Number of hits: 3 by members Yeh_Toh_Kaho_Kaun_Ho_Tum.rar ( 6.84 MB ) Number of hits: 4 by members |

Dear Swarapriya,
In the movie "Naukri" (1954) these are few rectifications: 1. Ek Chhoti Si Naukri - The name of the singer will be Shyamal Mitra and not Shyam Mitra. 2. Hey Lo Baadal - The singer is not definitely Kishore Kumar. I am 100% sure about it.The voice is completely different and doesnot match with KK.The voice here sounds similar to Shyamal Mitra. Moreover there is no mention about this song in the KK's biography, websites or elsewhere. Maybe somebody from the forum can throw light on this. Regards Soumik (Shailendra) Naukri (1954) This Bimalda's film deals with unemployment. Remember the movie was made in 1954. It should be Shyamal Mitra and not Shyam Mitra. The error was in my database and it was carried over onto the table. As far as the Bengali song, you probably are right. Until a clarification comes along I will leave as it is for now. Thanks, S |

(Shailendra) Char Diwari (1961)
This drama tells about a simple family that is struggling to meet its ends. In spite of this everyone seem to be living happily until an unfortunate accident to the housewife turns everything upside down. It has beautiful music by Salilda. My favorite is both parts of Mukesh’s song, “Kaise Manaavoon”. The title lists that the film is introducing Shashi Kapoor. However, he earlier appeared in at least two or three films of Raj Kapoor. I remember distinctly he was in “Awara (1951)” as the young Raj Kapoor and in “Shree 420 (1955)” in the song “Pyaar Hua”. Here are the songs from this film… Attached image(s) Attached File(s) Akela_Tujhe_Jaane_Naa_Doongi.rar ( 3.15 MB ) Number of hits: 13 by members Gori_Baabul_Ka_Gharwa.rar ( 5.15 MB ) Number of hits: 12 by members Hum_Ko_Samajh_Baithee_Hai.rar ( 4.65 MB ) Number of hits: 13 by members Jhuk_Jhuk_Jhoom_Ghata_Chhayee_Re.rar ( 4.31 MB ) Number of hits: 13 by members Kaise_Manaavoon_Piyava_1.rar ( 3.17 MB ) Number of hits: 14 by members Kaise_Manaavoon_Piyava_2.rar ( 3.05 MB ) Number of hits: 14 by members Neend_Pari_Lori_Gaaye.rar ( 4.64 MB ) Number of hits: 34 by members Char_Diwari_Extended_Title_Music.rar ( 3.24 MB ) Number of hits: 11 by members Climax_Music.rar ( 4.05 MB ) Number of hits: 3 by members Akela_Tujhe_Jaane_Naa_Doongi__ME_.rar ( 3.57 MB ) Number of hits: 5 by members |
