Food For The "day"

Last night it was Napa Valley
After my venturing out last week and going out to try organic hop ale, man I was back on track to my good old merlot. I have tried from Chile, Oz, and from Europe too.
I can handle CabSav and Shiraz too. As long as its red, I am fine. For some reason I feel they have strong berry taste. For me, I have to feel that after taste of red grape and I have noticed that is very very peculiar to merlot. It sits on your tongue for a while
Zinfen is ok too. One that I want to find is sparkling red rose wine. Other day they had this tasting thing going on where they were offering 50 cents a shot. That one really struck me, it had that kind of after taste of hamdard ka roh-afjah

My breakfast is always light, which is not good but the way modern day lifestyle is, i guess i can't afford to eat heavy.

Had cup of watermelon for break fast

Had Bread, Cutlets and Milk for breakfast.

Had mix bento (sushi) for lunch. There is a little Japanese place close to work which has these prepared boxes of sushi....the mix bento, as the name implies has an interesting variety of tit-bits.

They provide soya sauce and wasabi paste with it. I can eat really spicy food but I just can't take wasabi. With spicy food, the effect is inward. With wasabi, its outward like you're blowing fire out of your nostrils.....

I've had sushi as well but it didn't come with Wasabi. I should make a mental note to steer away from it.
Must say I liked the Sushi I had in a premier restraunt. I guess they take care of those with delicate palates.

Don't steer away from it. You might enjoy it in small doses. Its just that we desis are used to spices having the opposite effect.....some friends (American and Italian) like it a lot....I like wasabi peas in small wuantities....

A packet of bread 300 gms
and 400 ml. pure tap water of NDMC.

I've never tried American wine. I've mainly had French, a bit of Italian, Hungarian (Bull's Blood - great red) and of course Australian. Oz is actually really very good and in value for money, its by far the best in the world. A $15 quality Pinot here would easily cost Euro 45 in France or Italy. If I had the money, I'd buy a vinyard in Oz or NZ and retire!

By aftertaste do you mean the tannins because I try to avoid them - which often means allowing a Shiraz to breath for 2-3 hours.....my drink of choice is definitely red and as I grow older, I'm finding myself less and less inclined to experiment.....every time I like a red, I buy a case......play it safe.....

Typical Thai food: Tom ka gai soup, red curry and white rice. Also sinned and had fried ice-cream.

Had a lovely mixed Rajasthani-Gujrati thali with thepla, dhoklas, daal, sweet daal, rice, roti, daal baati, choorma, oodles of ghee (in everything!), gatte ki sabzi, ....
With all the calories I took I should skip a few meals.

Yes, for me... i kind of like that... not a lot though. For some reason there is aftertaste with every drink. Beer has that bubbly malt/barley taste, whisky has its own after taste. Gin gives out that dryness.
i agree playing it safe is good. trust me. once in a while i do venture out but then i have to set myself right with good old merlot

Red wine from south america is good too.

where in OZ do you have vineyards? Central OZ

Every drink has its own taste. But by after-taste/tannin I really meant the after-taste that is unique to lower-end wines....I don't think you are talking about that.....you probably mean the bouquet....

The best wineries in Oz are really in the southern (and cooler) part of Australia e.g. Mornington Peninsula which produces some great Pinot's and of course New Zealand. The best wines are really cooler climate ones....try a good Australian wine from VIC, SA or NZ (Oyster Bay is quite nice...for Pinot and white...)
