'Daana Paani' was, as per record, scored by 'Mohan Junior' - who, as per Begum Akhtar, was none other than Madan Mohan. I suppose we can take the great Begum's word for it, as she herself rendered a number in the film (though I don't possess it). Why Madan Mohan had to operate under such an incongruous nom de plume, I suppose we will never know. Again, how a Madan Mohan score could exist sans Lata, is again incomprehensible. But Lata or no Lata, the songs from 'Dana Pani' posted here, are as pleasant as any of that era:

I am not sure if Mohan Junior was Madan Mohan himself. Otherwise, why would this film not appear in his filmography on the official Madan Mohan site owned by his son?
Begum Akhtar did sing for Madan Mohan in Ehsaan in 1954, but neither was it included in the film, nor was a record believed. It is believed to be a "lost" song.
