EK khayal aya hai. how abt discussing all the punjabi songs yearwise.

Objective being to collect a goood information on yearwise pjabi released movies right form the earliest year.


Laterz we can put this compiled information on blogs or even on a website ! ( Tht Thing I can do laterz )
( Remind you there is no such site exists.... its scattered information ! )

Can we start with year 1947 ??


Atleast try to cover years till 1975

I would be happy to have a reference source or better still a source for all the Punjabi songs from the movies and folk albums etc. I am willing to pitch in with my meagre resources. Harjinder
P.S. would be nice if both Indian and Pakistani sources could be combined. One source could be APNA website. Also name the movies anf folk songs for each of the given years and all contributors could add whatever the can. Harjinder

APNA org is the best site on punjabiyat. god bless the site owners. ( IMO run by Lahori- amritsar guys ). /but it only has selective artcles on artists..........no information on movies !

Iam ready to take all the headache for thread and compliation of information. All I want is active participation of members . Iam totally blank when it comes to pjabi movies. thts why more eager to start such athread. Laterz we can post such compiled information on the net. I can do it . atleast pjabi lvoers have some information ( complete or not ) on Punjabi film music.

I am not starting this th read for any personal gain or for songs. as I myself wont be a ble to dloading from it. ( rarely I dload in pjabi section )

objective is to gather information. songs are secondry.

I have shared what little info I have on the board already as well as with Gargji last year. I'll be waiting for the book as well. Harjinderji, Maheshji, Dharmvirji, Urzangji, Ant bhai, these members are far more knowledegable than me on this subject, HF is lucky to have them.

1. Regarding Punjabi film songs, hardly full informtion is available and as informed by Dhall Sahib Garg Sahib was collecting information and was supposed to release the said Book which we are all waiting.

2.Regarding sharing of Punjabi songs I have shared many rares ,I have also shared some rares from Pakistani Punjabi films. But after new ammendments in this forum it was foud that very vew people were found having interest in Punjbai songs, or many were not able to download due to ratio system.
I am always happy to share the rares in this forum.

I cannot speak for others but I think your contributions at least on this website will go a long way in bringing to light, old Punjabi movie and folk music . The songs I have been able to download from pre-partition movies like Mangti are in themselves a tribute to your efforts to preserve this almost extinct heritage of ours.What more can I say. Please do keep it up. I always look forward to seeing your new posts with some of the almost forgotten but pleasant songs.Harjinder

Tuhadaa idea ki 1947 toan shuroo kareaye seems fine to me. There were Punjabi movies before that. We may or may not include them later.But let us start and 1947 may be a good year to start with. Harjinder

To be frank I didnt knew abt these links at all. nor abt Garg saab.

Harjinder ji had uploaded songs of one movie - "Bhaiyaa ji". I was curious to know more abt this nice titled movie. and I got no results in my search. the two results tht came were tht of Hamaraforums.

Thts why I felt tht there shd be some links on net on Indian Pjabi movies. atleast we can compile the singer and songs information of movies. Remind you the task would not have been very big as pujabi films are very few !

Mazhar site is Very very good site......... Never seen such a single site with so much info on movies !

But it only covers the pjabi films of Pakistan. ( laterz Urdu also ). I dont think there is indian section in it.

Garg ji is is doing search on PFM for his book. . but still information wont be there on net. we have to put some information on net abt Indian Pjabi mvoies. thts wat I wanted.

One more reason was ever since I got few old songs of pjabi movies I liked them immesly ! thts why felt like knowing pjabi music more. !


I think its not a big b urden...... all we can do is start with a year and list out all possible pjabi movies of tht year and its songs and singers etc !. such information can be hosted on blogs for the time b eing !

Surjit Singh's website is another source that has mostly Hindi/Urdu movie songs but also has some rare Punjabi songs . I think I had downloaded Bhaiyya Ji songs from his website. Harjinder

but gal te ohi reh gayi...........indian pjabi filma te koi link hai hi nehi ! koi agar information lena chahe te kitho leve.

Main song sharing da zikar iss karke kita ki koi meri intentions nu koi galat na samjhe. Usuually threads songs sharing waste shruu kitte jaande ne.

Garg saab di book da pata nehi kado aani hai. but saanu te inforamtion net te bhi c hhaidi hai.

Right now to get started I am giving some information on these in an unorganized fashion.Given information is incomplete and only what I could think of while I was making this table.
