Thanks for your reply. I checked with 'Earth Music' website and also replayed the song to see if it was Suraiya or Mubarak Begum.Also I remember in 50's and 60's Vividh Bharati and Radio Ceylon ( SLBC) used to announce Suraiya along with Tal'at Mehmood as one of the two singers. With all these references and my own ears pointing to Suraiya I tend to believe it is Suraiya.Music director in my records and on 'Earth Music' is also Ghulam Mohammad.Again thanks for your effort . I think with double checking like this we will often have information that is more authentic and well verified.Again some times in the past there have been some songs that were sung by a different singer in the movie than the one released on audio records. At least one song in each of the old movies 'Aag' and 'Kismet' had dual versions like this.Harjinder
