Mahesh Bhai, I lost the cassette of Pardes/Gauna/Ansoo/Nadan (all from 1950's), a few years back where I had all the movie version songs and till now could not get these songs in the market.
I will upload a few which I could collect again (all songs of Ghulam Mohd.'s Pardes are simply superb).

The primary question arose, when I was trying to figure out the female singer for the duet, 'ek teer chalaane waala...'. The songs list indicates it's Sitara Devi; whereas in the audio file name it is Sitara Kanpuri.

Yes Mahesh Bhai you are absolutely correct, my mistake all songs of Sitara mentioned are by Satar Kanpuri and no songs sung here by Sitara Devi, I have corrected my post.

You are welcome Hari Bhai. As pointed out by Mahesh Bhai its indeed Sitara Kanpuri and not Sitara Devi,. Sitara Devi was a dancer and actress (holding a world record of dancing for 17 hours at a stretch, thats what she said when she was once invited as a judge in Saregama hosted by Sonu Nigam). Sitara Devi, dancer, actress married the producer of Mughl_E-Azam, K. Asif, though they separated later.

I had a feeling that initial mukhda of hui paida has shamshad's voice but it was not listed any where.
I had earlier heard only the compositions of Pt. Amarnath in Mirza Sahiban and very much liked it and now found this Nishaani album really good. Really HMV must bring out more albums on these unsung maestros of the HFM.

amazing uploads.songs that i have been looking for quite some time.i only had three shamshad songs from nishani and only suraiya songs from sanjog.
would like to add the following names in the filmography -

1946-aayi bahar,
1948-rooplekha,
?shalimar,
gawandi[punjabi].

pt. amarnath also gave music for the punjabi version of v shataram's classic padosi[gawandi],which had a famous song by s d batish-pagdi sambhal jatta.
although pt. amarnath was the elder brother of bhagatram and husnlal,the former started giving music for films earlier by the name of bhagatram batish in late thirties.

shalimar was released in 1946 and punjabi movie gawaandi in 1942.

prior to that Pandit amarnath composed music for those two evergreen gazals sung by master madan in 1934-35.

hairat se tak rahaa hai mujhe and yoon na reh reh kar hamein tarsaaiye.
