Well friends, as the name of the thread would suggest, this is dedicated to those gems of Guru, which could not see the light of the day.....Yes, Unreleased songs are what we are talking about...

Now, when we talk of unreleased songs, it is important to define what exactly qualifies as unreleased....in the past we have had different opinions on this....so i start with defining what i have considered as unreleased...

Movie incomplete or Movie complete but not released:

1. Song not released on music albums/discs (promotional music discs precede release of movies)-----considered Unreleased
2. Song released on music discs-----considered Unreleased

Movie released and song recorded:

3. Song part of the movie and the music discs----considered Released (Obvious)
4. Song part of the movie but not on music discs----considered Released
5. Song not part of the movie but available on music discs----considered Unreleased
6. Song not part of the movie and not available on music discs----considered Unreleased

In short, i have considered a song unreleased if its picturisation was not released as a part of the movie, else the song is released....

Eskayesji, what do I talk about you? You are really a true fan of Kishoreda. I love the way you take initiative and encourage all others to contribute and also like you when you provide the explanations.

I have simply saved this post in a word file. Thanks a lot for this exhaustive list of Unrelease songs!

Thanks guys for your appreciation...well, the purpose is simple...discuss, share, listen and enjoy the gems of our Guru....if we fans of KK can help the flame remain burning, i am sure his songs will remain the epitome of melody for a long time in future....this will be our greatest tribute to Guru....I guess, this applies more to the unreleased songs, because these songs would otherwise be lost into oblivion quickly....Alas, just imagine, future generations would just not get to hear them in that case....

To start with, i have 39 of these 112 unreleased songs....of course, many Dhurandhars here will have all these 39...but for many Johnny Come Lately fans, i will upload them in due course so that fanfare of these songs passes on to those who haven't ever listened to them....And, i invite all others who have the unreleased gems of Guru to share them with us all....Remember, sharing these songs will neither reduce their file size nor will take the shine of these away....it will, infact, only help glorify these songs for future generations....

But, i guess it may be worthwhile uploading all the songs that we find....for sake of completeness as also to enable some who have a very few.....

A very interesting fact, if you notice the list closely.....RD Burman had maximum number (26) of Unreleased songs of Guru under his music composition, followed by Kishore Kumar himself (24) and Kalyanji Anandji (18)....To someone who is ardent KK-RDB fan, this is indeed a bad news...

Interesting point is that Laxmikant Pyarelal, one of the prolific composers alongwith RD Burman and Kalyanji Anandji during their and Guru's time, had just 4 unreleased songs.....does it mean LP duo lent their hand very prudently??? Infact, even Bappi Lahiri had more at 9 songs...

Phoolon Ke Desh Mein is from Jeevan Saathi (Shelved).....

As Far I know that the MD of Aao Baby Pyar Karen was Bappi Lahiri.....& Eskayes are u sure that Phoolon Ki Zubaan was recorded for Awaaz (Rajesh Khanna Starrer) because i knew that the name of the film was undecided & the lyrics was written by Gulzarsahab who was no way related with Awaaz.....

Dubloo, Is this "Jeevan Saathi" different from "Jeevan Saathi" 1988 in which Usha Khanna had given music??? Because this song "Phoolon Ke Desh Mein" has been composed by RDB, as far as i know....You mentioned "Shelved", so must be another movie with the same name.....

As for "Phoolon Ki Zubaan", i remember various discussions around this song on the forum...this is from an Asha Bhosle production unfinished movie...which was apparently to be called "Awaaz"....i dont know if it was Rajesh Khanna starrer....again this one is composed by RDB....Any more views on this please??

Are Boss I was talking about another Awaaz which is RK starrer & the music of which also was composed by RDB....KK sang Zindegi Sau Baras Ki Sahi in that film....well, this Awaaz is certainly looks a different one, In fact i should thank you because for long time i was looking for the name of the movie for which this beautiful song was recorded..You have ended my search...Thanks

As far Jeevan Saathi ....Long time back there was a discussin in Panchamyahoo group that this movie is a shelved (not the Usha Khanna one) & the directer was some Behl (Can't remember the name right now) whose son is Hansraj Behl......

I have made various lists and but not been able to find enough time to even check those lists against my present collection again. The md was listed as Chandru. Some one had told me that was Chandru Atma, CH Atma's nephew.

the song from Intezaar (Chanda Ki Kiranon Se Lipati Hawaayen .......Aake Mil Jaa)- 1973; MD: Chitragupt has a third antara that was unreleased in audio (but there in the movie)..The lyrics of this antara are " Yeh Chandan Si Kaaya......."..Does anyone have the song with this antara????

Comments :

1. Song number 14 wich is.."Is duniya mein jeete hai"...is it the same as "seva mein haazir hai is gulam.."?? thats what my listing says.

2.Song number 21 is Ho goriya re...instead of this i have 2 listings..."Yeh gora gora chora" and "Na tum jaane"

3.Song number 78 nasha hi nasha actually starts as "saathiya saathiya" which is how it is listed in my dbase.They are both the same.this is for info only.

we need to resolve point no 1 & 2 above.

1. No GF, these songs (at 14 and 15) are two different songs...while 14 is a duet by KK/Shailendra Singh, 15 is a solo....i dont have both...please upload them if you have...

2. Both VN and KD list only one song in the film "Barister" which is at 21....

3. Yes, "Nasha Hi Nasha" starts with "Saathiya Saathiya".....
