There appear to be two different versions used for movie and the records..
In the movie it is balam pardesi and on record it is baalam pardesi.
Similarly the tabla in the film version is more stylish and appealing.

Very true Mahesh-ji, I also noticed this with Kis Tarah Bhoolega Dil and Baithi Hoon Tere Yaad Ka, it has been a while since I have seen the film but I think there was also a pronounciation difference in Kis Tarah, on the CD is it most definitely Kis Tarah but on the film I recall it was Kis Tarhe.

really good observations Jamal and Maheshji.. in those days shamshad begum also said that songs were recorded for movie and then recording company...so they could not do more work ir more films in year..
but why don't they use same disks for film and company both.. why overwork

I noticed this with a lot of old songs. Beside this, sometimes they used some extra ‘antraas’ in film versions.

Songs of Dopatta are not the same in movie what we get in audio cassette by EMI...
Definitely re-recorded.
P.S. am not talking about extended versions like in Chan Way, Anarkali and many many many more (courtesy of mal-editing by HMV)

Yasmin.
