Hi, there are people from many different countries here at HF. So It would be nice to learn some basic words in as many languages as possible.

Nice if these sentences could be shared:

I can start by sharing these short sentences in Norwegian:
Hi! - Hei
How are you? -Hvordan går det? (å is pronounced as "o" in bobby)
My name is: - Jeg heter xxx / mitt navn er xxx

This is in bambaiyya hindi:

Hi! = abbey bhidu!!
How are you? = kya kar riyela hai baap?
My name is: = apoon bole tohhhhhh.....

Konkani mein

Hi = No such proper word still we generally use 'aarey / ei'

How r u = Kemon aachho?

Deepji...so far my knowledge is concerned the Konkani language is used in Karnataka, Mangalore etc.

Obviously Nimii will be able to say more about this....

Jaaini ka matlab Konkani mein kya hota hai? Koi bata sakte ho?

Jaaini ka bengali mein matlab hota hai "I didn't go"..

Nope Konkani is confined mostly to Goa and Karnataka only.

Konkani is widely spoken in Maharashtra as well. In all Ratnagiri area from where BHAI (Dawoood Ibrahim) belongs to.

Coz I have no friends from that place sad.gif , I heard and had chance to read few articles on DI, from where I came to know tha he belongs to Konkan, so I gave his reference. biggrin.gif
