Yesterday was a lucky day for me, because after about 25 years I again had the thrill of listening to music director Ravi's composed song in his own voice! The song is the title song of the Ashok Kumar/Shyama film Isi ka naam duniya hai! He has certainly rendered it nicely! It is a pleasure to listen to this song.

However, I am sure he has given his voice to some more songs. Can someone in the know tell about those songs?

Also this raises the interesting issue of Composers who have been singers and Singers who have been Composers! In the first category come C. Ramchandra, Ravi, S. D. Burman, R. D. Burman, Ravindra Jain, Sardar Malik, etc In the second category fall Manna Dey, Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, etc. Can anybody please expand these lists with known examples of their films?

3. Ek bhooli yaad ne phir dil mera tadpa diya......jogi.
4. Ganga bhi beh rahi hai....gauri
5. Insaan jee raha hai ummed ke sahare...ummed
6. Two lines in the song...aaj mere yaar ke shadi hai.....

Just saw this post. Add Mukesh the second category. He composed music for his home prodution ' Anuraag'.

" kise yaad rakhu, kise bhul jaun " is still very popular.

Music Director Ravi had also sung in the films Ye Preet Na Hogi Kam (Title track trio) and Padosi (Mein Hun Majboor Meri Manzil Hai Door). I'm also in search of the song from Padosi.
