Hi Friends,

I will be starting Saat Suron Ka Saath - Shanker Jaikishan on Friday October 28th, 2005 in an attempt to share the wonderful melodies and beautiful music of the Duo of all musical duos, Shanker Jaikishan.

I would like to showcase various themes, singers etc. each Friday for the one hour duration.

If anyone has any requests for a particular theme or singer etc., as well as anything associated with SJ that they would like to listen to on the show, please by all means feel free to request it on this thread.

The First show will feature:

Theme: SJ Duets
Description: a variety of duets featuring great singers in SJ's repetoire.

Thank You Pradeep ji for introducing HF Radio and giving us an opportunity to listen to the great gems from all the hosts.

Due to Eid celebrations on Friday, this week's show has been moved to tommorow (Thursday) at 15:00 GMT (11:00am EST), 8:30pm in India and 4pm in the U.K.

Theme: Ameen Sayani & The Year 1966
Description: Ameen Sayani presents SJ, and the duos amazing tunes from a musically wonderful year

The first part of the show will feature parts from one of the shows of Ameen Sayani on Shankar Jaikishan. Shankar talks about his beloved partner Jaikishan followed by Talat Mahmood's version of "Aye Mere Dil Kahin...." (Daag). Next, Ameen bhai interviews lyric writer Hasrat Jaipuri followed by Jaikishan's "Rasik Balma..." (Chori Chori) by Lata.

Moving on, Ameen bhai presents a brief version of Rafi saab's filmfare award winning "Baharon Phool Barsao...." (Suraj) from the year 1966 followed by an interview with Pallavi Jaikishan (wife of Jaikishan) by Ameen bhai.

The second part of the program will feature SJ's wonderful tunes from 1966.

Due to my exams, 'Saat Suron Ka Saath' will be cancelled this Friday November 11/05. Next week SSKS will air a Jaikishan Special commemorating the great composer's birth anniversary that fell on November 4th.

LoL tell me about it Imran ji ......I'm trying to work hard .....life is really busy.....can you believe only 3 shows have aired so far ?.....hopefully with holidays coming up it will be more !

I am sorry but I cannot hear anything on the player. I mean the song is playing but there is no sound. I have tried it on Winamp as well as Real Player, but to no avail. Please check whether there's a problem in the broadcast. I have tried to play it on my PC as well as Laptop.

So that means back to back Special programmes on 24th??? First one by Ali ji at 21:30 pm (IST) and then your programme at 22:30 (IST) ????? And I heard TN ji (Track Nest) also hosting a Rafi spl programme that day........ can we confirm each of the programmes' timings (with a re-confirmation of the dates too) please???? So as to avoid further confusion..... and also not to miss out on some really good music...........

Actually if there is space on Saturday morning before your show can I do it then or should I stick to tommorow ?

Saturday 24th would be more appropriate, in my opinion. If you broadcast the program from 21:30 to 22:30 hrs IST, before my program scheduled for 22:30, listeners will get to hear both tributes to Rafi-sahab, one after the other, on the same day.

Ok will do .....I think that would be better as well......so its confirmed, I will change the time.

SSKS's Tribute To Rafi Saab has been postponed due to technical difficulties, the show will be held soon, will update this thread for the date and time.

The Rafi saab Birthday Tribute will now be held on Tuesday December 27, 2005 at 21:30 to 22:30 IST, 11:00 am EST and 4:00 pm in the UK.

Due to my busy uni schedule this semester, SSKS for the time being will not be featured each week, however there will be shows whenever I have time. Any future shows will be mentioned ahead of time on this thread.

Last time I wanted to do a Rafi saab birthday tribute, but could not due to technical difficulties. However the next show will be a SJ-Rafi Special.
