I had heard the rumour that Rafi Saheb
had blood come out of his throat after
recording "Duniya Ke Rakhwaale" in film
Baiju Bawra. In August 2003 I was able
to meet Naushad Saheb in Mumbai (along
with Binay Bhushan Ji and Bhendigiri Ji).
I asked Naushad Sheb if the rumour was
true. He said that it was not true.
Naushad Sahen also mentioned that he
has many relatives in USA and that he
visits USA every year.

What I heard was that he fainted after singing the song. Not sure how true it is. But the song is such unique one. Never heard any other like it before.

On the original HF, we had a person by name Javed.. who is also a good singer... Rafi style singer. He had sent picture of himself with Udit etc.. He was the one I think who told us that Rafi vomitted blood rehearsing for ODKR.

This also reminds me of another... lively person Guya.. who said that... ** which was funny then ** if all these new brand of singers were supposed to sing ODKR, we need to ensure to keep rolls of newspapers on the ground and make them stand on it...

Did you guys check out the rendering of o duniya ke rakhwale of sarfraz ji's family member..he uploaded it on MAS site..it was VERY good
