Okay, starting my uploads. Am wondering where, darn, we have too many fora (yeah, jootein parenge mujhe!). Okay I'll upload at the relevant Kachha Dhaaga. I'll cross it out from my lists above (in 2 parts) and leave a reference here (Mahn, too much work!) I am assuming these haven't been uploaded recently, if anyone is aware, do let me know and I shall remove my uploads. Song 8. Khanak gayo haay bairi - Rishte Naate (1964). Hasrat Jaipuri. 5:53 mins @ 128. This is the file uploaded by Lata ji previously. Very clean and clear, sounds like a CD rip going by the tags.

I believe songs 1 & 6 were filmed alongwith Asha ji's Ashkon se teri hamne tasveer banayi hain at a stretch on the 3 leading ladies of the film. I have the mp3 from India screen (if I remember right). I am taking the liberty to upload that in place of these two individually. Just complicates everybody's life a bit. Aahat ji will have to make references at two different fora and people that want the songs individually will have to do some tailoring. My apologies for any inconvenience, but I hate to break it up.

My version of song 3 - Woh dekho jala ghar isn't really upto par (not bad, but not good either). I think we should wait for some kind soul (many abound at HF - nice word abound, I am picturing some of us bounding all over HF, we are also bound to HF... before people decide to strangle me...) to upload a clean & clear version, failing which, I shall do the needful.

I have a question about this song. Growing up, I had heard this song on Vividh
Bharati and recalled it as ending differently. It ended with the last word
"saaNvariya" going a little higher and then coming down (so hard to describe it
in words). That was the only way I recalled the song. Now the only version I
seem to find is the way it is in the film which is what has been uploaded. I was
wondering if somebody else recalls this or if I was just imagining it (sad truth is
that I was totally NOT into Hindi music when I was growing up; it was just
background noise on the radio).

Song no 7...meri aankhon se koyi neend liye jata hai..pooja ke phool has been uploaded here....it is better quality.

SB, I am the last person who will be able to even understand this question! I listen to music, I love it, I enjoy it, it transports me to heaven, I miss it when I get busy... but... all these subtleties are lost on me. Wish it weren't so... but... Let's hope someone fields your question.

This one was uploaded by Pradeep ji, very recently in CDQ. Unfortunately it's gone and hence will have to be uploaded again in a spate of two months. It's beautiful though and well worth the effort. Sends shivers down my spine.

Kal raat, I wrestled with Tum ho saath raat bhi haseen hain, Mohar (1958), Lata, Rajinder Krishan. Both the previous uploads at HF were iffy, am uploading what I think is the best sound. CD able at your own risk . What does Unni ji say... something about nostalgia and sound compromise...

It was uploaded by Badshah ji, I have lowered the pitch just a tad bit because, my cousin (the MM fan I spoke about earlier) commented that he had always felt this song wasn't recorded properly, that Rafi saab's voice sounded a little thin in any version he heard. I would love to see the picturisation of this one. Does anyone know?

Yes, some of the articles I posted were the ones I really enjoyed re-reading. I thought HF people also might like them. But in such indepth articles I find mention of songs that I haven't heard. My knowledge of Hindi music (rather any) is limited, and mostly confined to those that frequent (or at least used to) Jaimala, Man chahe geet, Bhoole bisre geet, etc. Since I live in South, we were deprived of DD-2/some DD programs in regional time slots. To top it, I never used to see movies much even on TV. So I wouldn;t know the cast, but many times I'd know the song and lyrics.

But curiosity always pushes me to try finding the songs that are appriciated, and I end up with some downloads and some more threats.

There is no way I can thank you all for the favor you have bestowed and I can never say this enough.

Does anyone have Rafi saab's "Sawan Ke Mahinen Mein" song from Sharabi, *ing Dev Anand & Madhubala.
I have the slow/philosophical one (can't call it Sad), can u/l if somebody needs.
Also, Lata-ji's "Meri Veena Tum Bin Roye" from Dekh Kabira Roya (by itself, not the bundle of 3 songs u/led earlier).

"assortment" ka matbal woh gaane joh main bachpan mein gun-gunaya karta tha. This particular one had been performed I think at a school function and the Princi had been a little peeved bcos it was a song glorifying sharabis.

Talaikya Ji, I was reading your post on this thread and read about your opinion on the song - Mujhe Le Chalo by Rafi Saab. You are absolutely right in the sense that the CD version is a little faster than the original Film Version and that is why Rafi Saab's voice in the CD seems a little thin. I have watched the Film Version and ofcourse have listened it as well and it is a lot slower than the CD one. So, Rafi Saab's voice sounda a lot more intense and even better than the CD version. Needless to say, that the song is an absolute gem for a Rafi Saab fan.

As far as the picturisation, I found it quite good. Dev Anand is acting and is walking through an isolated place, depressed and frustrated. His expressions are pretty good as well. I have the song in DVD quality and if you want I would try to U/L a small part of it.
