The other song I have from this movie is a Mukesh solo.
Since you enjoyed the previous upload, here's another rare one. The remarkable thing is that this track is from a 1959 movie. When you hear it you'll know what I mean. It's the music of New York's Broadway 2005!

Yes, Bela Mukherjee was Hemant Kumar's wife. They met during his stint in AIR, and soon they were deeply in love with each other. They were married in 1945.
In a rare interview, Mrs. Mukherjee was asked which of her husband's compostions was her favourite. She chose a song by Asha Bhosle for "SAHIB BIWI AUR GHULAM" which was not used in the film.

Can someone let me know how to upload songs from a CD?
I will try to upload bengali songs on the forum.
Bappa
Load the disk on the CD drive and open it in Windows Media Player. If the CD starts playing automatically, click on "STOP" and then click on "COPY FROM CD". You can check the corresponding box/es to choose the songs you want to copy. The songs will be copied to your hard-drive in WindowsMediaAudio format. You need to
convert the songs to mp3 and then
zip them.
1) Download Cheetah Audio Converter (free download) which handles conversion between WMA, WAV, MP3 and OGG.
2) Download WINRAR (free download), which also has WINZIP.
Please feel free to ask any questions you may have, or if you need additional information/assistance.

Thanks for this glorious old classic. I haven't listened to the other uploads, but I'm looking forward to them.
While on "Thoomi Jey Aamaar", was this tune used again by Hemant-da in Hindi? Or is there another Bengali version by Hemanta-da (?). While listening to Geeta-ji, the tune seems so familiar. But then, I've been hearing it from childhood!
