Here is the original composition that Adi Narayana Rao made for the telugu movie "Suvarna Sundari" that eventually became popular in Hindi as "Kuhu Kuhu Bole Koyaliya", the eternal Lata-Rafi gem.

The telugu song goes "haayi haayiga aamani saage" and has been sung beautifully by Ghantasaala and Jikki. I particularly like the ease with which they handle the complex classical pieces and the comfortable switch from Sohini to Bahaar to Jaunpuri to Yaman !

This song was very popular in Tamil as well where the singers were Ghantasala
(again as in Telugu) with P Susheela. It is interesting to wonder why the female
voice was changed from Jikki to Susheela, especially since Jikki was a pretty
popular singer in Tamil (her native language I believe) at the time.
Interestingly P Susheela's mother tongue is Telugu.
