Grateful thanks. Made me misty eyed with nostalgia.

You know, the tune of the first line of the antaras is actually the interlude music of the bengali version (sung by Lata-bai). This was a pet past-time of Salil-babu. Some instances that come to my mind are:

* Tune of 'ghadi ghadi mora dil dhadke' in the interlude of 'aaja re pardesi'.
* Tune of 'baagh mein kali khili' in the interlude of 'saathi re....tujh bin jiya udaas re'.
* Tune of 'saagara saagara' in the interlude of 'manas maine varu'.
* The interlude music of 'saagara saagara' becoming the actual antara of the bengali verion of 'baagh mein kali khili' (sung by Sabita Chowdhury - 'jaa re jaa amaar ashar...')
* The opening female chorus of 'saagara saagara' becoming the main tune of a Kishore song in a bengali movie Kobita - 'shuno shuno go shobe shuno diya mon'.

There are many more.

Thanks Archie!!!!!!!! Any other such songs in Bangla/Hindi sung by the 2 sisters. One that comes to mind is not Salil but RDB --jaane kya baat hai (Sunny) which has an earlier Asha version in Bangla.

One more RDB number of Asha-tai 'banshi shune ki ghare thaka jaaye' has a hindi version sung by Lata-bai & Anup Jalota. I do not remember the movie's name. The mukhda is something like 'mile jhoom ke milan rut aaye....'.
