its really sad when we come to know that there is no specific department in our whole BOLLYWOOD to keep the records of every facts like the BCCI or ICC keep.

our govt has few institutes to keep the PRINTS of old movies, even some of the classics have been missing coz of fire or accidents.
last time i read that the institute does't even have a single copy of super duper hit like SHOLAY.i forgot the institute's name.

we only make guesses when we talk abt the number of songs our legends sung. cry.gif

is there any written records how many songs ASHA JI has sung?

i was browsing a website regarding the number of songs our legends sung but i doubt their aunthencity.

what do u say? sad1.gif

Songs after 1994 are not listed but should not be that hard to tally or find. The VN book list all Hindi songs with complete info in most cases. A bible for every Asha fan!!!!

Ya movies is a sad story. I keep wishing someone had saved a print of Badi Ma that had Noor jehan, Lata and Asha all starring together. cry.gif India mein to sab kuch aisa hi hai--historical monuments going to ruins.... sad1.gif

There's a lot of misinformation out there about the number of songs sung by legends. Let me add just for the record that Priya's info is accurate to the best of my knowledge also.

I do not, today. I'm sure you can ballpark it as well, or even better than I can. From what he tells me, "Hamraaz" would take around a year more before he gets to work on mid 90s and beyond for the Geetkosh. (He's about 80% done with the 80s's volumes)

No high circles....at least, not yet. Hamraaz is a very down to earth and very accessible individual.
