Father Dinnath Mangeshkar used to lovingly call her "Hub"?? [In one interview she says how her father used to call her a kitten for she used to lick up all the cream from the milk pot!!!]

DOB: 8 September 1933 in Maharastra

Music Training: Classical training from M. Navrangji ( what does ma. stand for?) Also herself learned a lot listening to her father's records.

Playbak Singing: First for Marathi film Manjh Bal (1944)--song chala chala navbala. All her siblings too sang in this song!!! The MD was Datta Davjekar. In Hindi first song was for Vasant Desai in the film Andhon Ki Duniya with Zohrabai--garibon ke daata. (Usually it is said [Asha herself has said so in interviews and most write ups say so] her first Hindi song was from Chunariya with Geeta and Zohrabai.

Acting: Marathi film Manjh Bal (1944), Badi Ma (1945) Taxi Taxi (1977!!!!!!)--someone tell me what this is all about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P
