Tum ne di aawaz lo mein aa gaya
Hi Pulkit, Priya and other friends!
Infect I happened to Karachi for last few days. I was over there to attend The All Pakistan Music Conference. Before going there, I thought to inform you that I’ll be out of town for a week but unfortunately due to lake of power supply I couldn’t be able.
I was very much moved by knowing that you missed me. It’s really very sweet of you. I thank you all for your attention. I love you all.
This recent visit of Karachi was very much fruitful for me from various aspects. Not only I was successful in collection about 200 (more) songs of Madam Noor Jehan but I also got 8 video recording of old PTV programs about Madam (some TV interviews, a couple of tributes and some missing videos of ‘Tarannum’). Beside that, I also enjoyed the company of some living legends like M F Hussain (renowned Indian painter), Ahmed Faraz (one of most famous Urdu poets of Pakistan).
I also enjoyed the live performance (at the conference) of some great artists like Farida Khanum (Ghazal singer), Nahid Siddiqi (Kathak dancer), Sadia Khan (Bharat Natium dancer), Ustaad Bashir Khan (Tabla player), Ustad Fateh Ali Khan, Hamid Ali Khan (classical singer), Ashraf Sharif Khan (Sitar player), Ustad Mubark Ali Khan (Classical singer), Tina Sani (one of my favorite singers) and many more.
It is really nice to see that some hot discussions are going on at the forum and some very interesting threads have been started. I will try my level best to participate there as well.
