The versatile throat of Noor Jehan could do amazing justice to mujras as well. She could sing seductive ones, those involving endless pain and the judment day kind of songs with great ease. She brought all emotional colours when singing mujras both in Urdu and Punjabi. Here is the first one to start with, its a judgment day kind of song from Anjuman, very popular in its day- 'Izhar Bhi Mushkil Hai'

I have a superb Noor Jehan mujra recorded probably in 1990s, it goes as 'sone ki nathli mein resham ka dhaagaa, hai allah saal mohe solvaan laagaa.' Anyone please tell me the name of the film, composer and lyricist and confirm the year of release....quite a big task though.

No idea abt Ur query but U know what i will ask na? The song pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee...
Nice thread that u have started --i have not heard too many of Madam's mujras--only ik sitam aur sahi and then recently jo bacha tha woh lutane which Inaam uled for me. Does anyone have the cd version of that btw?

Thanks for starting this wonderful thread Pulkit! Madam has sung hundreds of Mujra songs for Urdu and Punjabi films. I believe, she was very particular in these songs. I have a good collection of her Mujra songs. Will surely share with you some of my favorites.

Sorry for following my own post, but anyone knows who was the MD and lyricist(must have been Khwaja Pervez I guess). I saw this film long ago and it had many Noor Jehan songs but this mujra standing out.

Pulkit! MD was Taafu, No idea about lyricist but agree with your guess... must have been K Pervez. He is still the favorite lyricist of Taafu.

Speaking of mujra numbers, I got one a very long time back from sangeetmahal--idhar zindagi ka janaza uthega.... the quality is quite ok but if someone has this on cd please do ul it.

I have 'Idher Zindagi ka...' but on audio tape.

Of course songs chahiye if that is the choice.
Just asked because U say Madam has sung hundreds of mujras and I have heard just a handful so it was not a genre I associated strongly with her. If Ur audio tape version of idhar zindagi ka is good do ul it otherwise my version is quite ok. Please do ul the songs of Ur choice--waise bhi hamari pasand kaafi milti hai.

O great, I had applied a different guess rule for the answer....just looked at the lyrics and thought that such a spice must be coming from Pervez saab, he can write such songs in minutes. Interestingly, by either rule answer is the same.
